Everything on offense needs to be rebuilt from the foundations up not sure there is anything they do well.

 

The two worst units in the NFL are the Titans offense and the Bengals defense.

Simmons clearly isnt a fan of Latham's habits and the way Latham basically implied that it was Ward's fault for his 4 false starts, Im not either.

He actually insinuated Ward's fault and it was an issue of the cadence and not practicing with the cadence.

 

And yes of course, as you'd expect from a leader, Ward took up for him and said it was his fault for penalties.

I think the unexpected part of the 2024 draft class is the apparent lack of attention to good football character. Latham, Sweat, and Brownlee all came in with a level of entitlement and lacked accountability. 

 

Maybe it was an organizational culture issue. But the person responsible is not here anymore

I was worried we might win the game! Defense was playing very well. Fortunately, Latham knows what's up. He tanked drive after drive. Good kid.

Why’s everyone so down on Latham? He was handpicked by the greatest OL mind/coach in the history of the NFL.

Ward really needs to stop taking the blame for when his teammates fuck something up. He thinks he’s being a good teammate but you can’t take the blame for everything. It’s his fault that Jefferson drops a pass, or Ayomanor runs the wrong route, or Latham false starts.
 

You just can’t shoulder all the blame yourself. That’s not good for anyone.

I think thats partly why Simmons feels it necessary to call out the offense, specifically Latham. No one else is doing and Cam doesnt yet have the pedigree where he should be. I think a lot of what Simmons is doing is telling the offense "no, we're not going to let the rookie take the blame off of you for everything"

Would be very unusual for any QB not named Brady or Manning much less a rookie to call out his OL.

So odd. One of the highlights of Latham as a rookie was how hard he worked and wanted to be great. Then he dropped all the weight in the offseason. What the hell happened when he got injured? Seems like a totally different guy since he came back.
 

I still think he’s playing alright and can be the right tackle of the future, but the penalties have to stop.
