My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

Huh?!

Ok so you just don’t like him based on vibes lol that’s fine. I was honestly trying to understand what people see that I don’t.

Yeah, of course, someone saying he lacks the presence to command a room and that his leadership style is ineffective is "vibes". Almost all of our judgment of these guys is based on "vibes" out of necessity because we aren't in the room, and they all say basically the same things when it comes down to it. His communication style is intentionally informal, self-deprecating, and collaborative. That probably works fine when things are going well, but when they don't, it falls apart quickly. He doesn't hold players accountable at all. Look how he's handled Hill and all of his melt downs if you want a specific example.

You can call it a quirky personality all you want but I've served with alpha males most of my adult life and I can tell you emphatically that most of them simply do not take people like that seriously. It is damn hard to control a locker room of professional athletes when they don't take you seriously or if they only tolerate you because of the position that you are in and not because of the value you add or the leadership you provide. Maybe he adds enough value that they overlook it, but I doubt it based on my experience.

At the end of the day, none of us is in the room with these guys day in and day out so maybe there's more than what I can subjectively observe. What I will say, though, is that his teams have been consistently soft, even downright fragile against physical opponents. They always seem to start fast, fade late, and make tons of mental mistakes in must-win games. I have a high level of skepticism that he's able to keep a locker room full of grown NFL players accountable based on how he's interacted with them in the videos I've seen of him and the Hard Knocks special I saw. Go watch Vrabel's hard knocks videos and how players respond to him. Then go watch McDaniels and tell me you can't see the difference. Not the classroom interactions, but the actual coaching on the field.

That’s all I was asking for! I disagree with much of what you said but I at least know where you’re drawing your opinion from now lol

And fuck the Adams family for pushing her into the spot. I wonder what those dynamics are actually like. Is she collab-ing with them on decisions? Is there an internal family text thread that sways her decisions? Do they even give a shit about the team?

They need to sell this motherfucker

She's way better than fat Tommie. We're building a competent organization the right way. Now she just needs to let people do their jobs. The Carthon Vrabel Callahan clusterfuck was flat out embarrassing.

Not defending anyone involved in the roster construction over that time, but Cunningham was a waiver claim who only cost about 4 million per year over the term of his Houston Contract, Clowney was a one year deal who was good, and Jones was reported to be a Robinson move after the Falcons desperately called to trade him

I don’t think that is correct. We were on the hook for a huge cap hit the year after we got him. It was like 4 mil the year we claimed him but another big cap spike the following season IIRC

Its not. Its just us. Because we've been waiting and there's been so much new.

Go back to the year before. 22-24th was the start.. same for the year before.

Fair. It’s probably a me problem. And yeah, I guess it just feels longer because we’ve been in this for months now.
