Tua was always fool's gold. He does have a level of talent but he's just not a play-maker at a position where you increasingly have to be one.

He’s basically a placeholder /avg guy with limitations.  Or Jacoby Brissett.  Either way the guy should have never been given that extension and that’s not even taking the health stuff into play.

We’ve been taking the headlines for bad organizations.  But MIA has been at that for longer , close to 30 yrs.

Albert Breer has a few nuggets here about the HC search and some of the analytical studies the team is already undertaking about varying success rates of second time HC and coordinators with more than

It is becoming really annoying how some people are using bad result as an excuse to paint the last HC hiring process as a sham. Facts are Callahan was an in demand candidate during that hiring cycle e

Callahan was a great "candidate" and a terrible head coach.

Teams should draft Qbs in the 6th because Brady is a HOF!

Thats essentially your point.

What the fuck? lol  No it wasnt. I literally said they shouldn’t cut anyone out with an inherent bias because the last guy didn’t work lol that was the whole point.

using Shanny Jr as the example is the same thing. Of course if you knew you could get the next Shanny Jr you don't exclude candidates that weren't HCs before. But for every one of those, there are 10 others who fail. Thats the calculus they have to work through. I have no problem if they determine this shit show is so bad they need a guy with HC experience.

After watching what Saleh has done with the 49ers defense despite all the injuries to starter like Warner and Bosa, I wouldn't hate if they gave him a look provided he had a good plan for an OC

The problem is what happens after the "good OC" leaves for an HC job and you half to find another "good OC"

He does seem like a very nice guy who would fit well with the community. But the good feelings won't last long if he can't win.

I'm just skeptical of any DC becoming HC.  I think a year or two ago there was a list of coaches who made the playoffs and all but maybe 2 were former offensive-side coaches, and Harbaugh (Special Teams) was one of them.

Devil's advocate, but if there is a strong trend towards offensive HCs, then naturally most teams in the playoffs will be offensive HCs just due to the pool of possible teams in the playoffs being mostly run by offensive HCs.

Also, maybe a real thing and not just some folksy thing I made up  - if you're trying to get on board with a trend in the NFL, chances are you're already too late.

It will be interesting who they can get.  All the top names will be talked about.  Then WTF will get snatched up. {before everyone else could get him}. Brilliant!!

One of the most important questions asked in the interview will be who can you bring with you as a staff?

I think a more important question to ask is "What constitutes a legal catch in the NFL?"

Had they asked that question it's quite likely Callahan would never have been hired.
