Pollard to the Ravens?

If you think trading away AJ Brown was a bad idea, trading Simmons is far, far worse.  He's a high level established player in his prime. Trading him also likely gets a huge negative reaction from tea

Once the Jets got Brownlee they didn't need Gardener

This is why I’m not entirely opposed to trade a draft pick for a guy who can still play for multiple years

Outside of extending Simmons and Skronski, there isn’t anyone up (or close to it) for a contract that is worth spending for.

Right. We're in a good position to make a smart move if it presents itself. A vet WR or CB could even give us more flexibility come draft time.

Trade any defender you can besides Simmons. Trade Okonkwo and move Helm to the number 1. Leave the rest of the offense alone.

Idk about trading chig. If they can get some real value then i woulf be for it. But currently him and helm are the only two guys you can trust on short passes.

Neither can block which complicates thing. Helm looks like he may be able to grow into that but chig is more a big ass gadget player than a TE.

I'm okay with either extending Okonkwo or trading him. If they aren't going to extend him then get capital. I get your point though. He's one of the only play makers we have.

The only way I can see the the Titans adding a player in a trade is if it’s some sort of salary dump

Not nearly as confident about Helm right now. He has a few great grabs, but dude has dropped some easy ones, too. He’s no road grader and his overall athleticism seems to be topped out. Chig is ridiculously explosive, but, but, but…

The broader point of buying vs selling — I’d like for the Titans to be opportunistic and creatively take on some high contracts of players who fit their vision over the next 3 years

Or if he's a problem in the locker room but from what everyone has said the locker room seems pretty tight.

I don't seem the trading for or trading anyone tbh. Maybe a talented mid to back end guy to compete but do you really trade for that? I could see some waiver claims if someone surprising is released after a trade.

I don’t see them wanting to trade for someone else’s locker room cancer, even if he’s cheap. Not after they dumped Brownlee.

The problem is Chig and helm fill the same role. Chig hasn't done enough to get extended. a few nice plays last week doesn't change that.

I mainly agree, though I think by next season Helm can bulk up a bit and play more in-line but that's a projection. If you aren't going to extend him then trade him. Same with any other expiring contract.

The thing is we will have more money than players in FA, so I think it does change the calculus a bit. Plus the roster is devoid of talent. I can see justifications either way, but my first instinct is you trade the expiring contract.
