The guy on the turf should be in a postal worker uniform.   Kinda like this...

If I was underage you'd really love Henry then! Then you could vote for him!

Give Henry a FB and any average QB and OL Keep him on the field and it's 1500 yards easy.

2 more years of that is easy as long as coaches stop over thinking.

Another 3,000 yards will still only get him about half way to Emmitt Smith.

Edit:  I misread the post and thought the post was talking about Henry’s peers in the league .  But point still stands.  He’s just a pure runner and there’s no shame in that .

Yeah, Henry was fine at making the most of a well executed screen, a slip out of the backfield to a 5 yard safety valve over the middle, or sneaking out down the sideline occasionally to use his size/ speed against a 1-1 defender.

No shame in that, but he's not some versatile receiving back that's running precision routes out of various formations and positions.

He also simply has average hands and improved drastically as a pass blocker during his time here. The blocking went from shit to average. He isn't an LT, Faulk or a Lorenzo Neal as a blocker.

Lots of pointless arguments on this.

It's probably safe to assume Henry will finish the season right at 13,000 yards, give or take fifty.

Next year Henry needs only 700 yards to surpass Dickerson (13,259), Jerome Bettis (13,662), and Ladainian Tomlinson (13,684).

1100 yards would surpass Curtis Martin (14,101) for  #6 all time.

Today Henry is roughly 2.000 yards from #5 Adrian Peterson (14,918)... probably a bit unrealistic for next year, but I could definitely see it in 2027.  Gaining 2300 yards over the next two years would surpass #4 Barry Sanders (15,269).

Catching #3 Frank Gore (16,000) and #2 Walter Payton (16,726) would require 2-3 more strong years.....and he'd need three more 1500+ yard seasons  (or five 1000+ yard seasons)  to have a shot at #1 Emmitt Smith (18,355)

Unlikely?    Absolutely.    But Henry has made a career of accomplishing the unlikely...and of course, his work ethic and conditioning regimen are legendary.    It certainly seems unlikely that he'll still be playing at age 35 or beyond....but I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

And he will do it.  No doubt in my mind.  He'll get the TD record before the rushing record.  I also believe he will two SB before he is done.

as much as I disagree with people on here and can’t stand seeing their posts, the awkward, obsession-based posts from LTF toward Oilerman always take the cake.

How the fuck did someone on a message board hurt you to the point your only objective is to post about/to him? At least other people have seasons (I beef with different posters every other day). It’s actually comical.

Emmitt Smith is currently the all time leading rusher with 18,355 rushing yards.

Derrick Henry going into today had 11,423

18,355

11,423

6932 yards to go

I'll be tracking this race in this thread. I'm legitimately hoping he gets it at this point.

Great Comparisons.
