"Gunslinger Cam goes down in flames!" "Clearly Ward was not worth the 1st pick!" "Titans are doomed!" etc. etc., but then he lights it up the rest of the year and they sneak into the playoffs. I was saying this jokingly. But it is a wild fact that the last two Titans QBs that the team had high hope to become franchise QB but went bust threw for 4 TDs in their debut start. Not just Mariota. Levis threw 4 in his first start too. Same principle, but not so much insane as it is superstitious. Not that matters. Throwing with anticipation, throwing receivers open, managing the pocket under pressure, improvising and throwing on the run - he's so much better than they ever were. Maybe it won't happen in the first game, but the numbers will come.
