If I was a democrat I’d be pretty annoyed about how this process played out.  There are ways they could have involved their voters in this to some degree.  Yes, I know the money raised for Biden/Harris would be an issue.  Yes, I know the optics of bypassing the VP may look bad.  But completely denying your voter base to have any real decision on the matter is a very bad look.   They could have come out and touched on these things as why Harris should be the logical choice.  Or another candidate, with momentum, might be able to bypass them as non issues if the voters wanted them enough.  
 

In this digital age and with representatives in every state, they could have had a much more formal, involving process.  It wouldn’t be as legitimate as an actual primary, but a lot closer than the clown show of a sitting President rescinding his nomination (without an interview or message or live actual words) by two posts on one social media site and other high ranking members of the DNC endorsing his recommendation.  Just a truly bad look from a voter perspective.  I know you guys have to unify behind her and justify this because it’s all there is to do - but be real about it.  This was lame and Democrats speaking out about it have every right to be mad.

That isn't guaranteed. I know many are happy Biden's out but there are serious concerns Harris will win over WI, MI, and PA. She'll need to win PA plus those or swap them out for AZ and GA. This is still an up hill battle.

A large majority of all voters felt Biden should step aside.  So the "bad look from a voter perspective" is likely wishful thinking.  

We don't know what the process is from here, but Biden had to willfully step aside for any process to move forward.

Yes we do.  It take 600 delegates endorsing a replacement/candidate to put that candidate before the whole delegation for a vote. Harris already has that easily, and with so many big names already bowing out, there probably will not be another candidate.  When they are ready for a roll call vote, which could come as early as next week, she will officially be the nominee.

I believe this to be correct, but I was suggesting we don't know what process they will use going forward.  There's been a lot of talk of a mini-convention.  That said, Harris is getting huge support so this will probably influence any plans they might have had.
