Thrill
Long story short, my family was unable to get pricing for seat options from the Titans until this month. They go into some office where there’s a model of the new stadium and they basically get told the area they sat previously has been sold already and the closest seats available (read: available to the 20 year PSL holders), was row 20 and they wanted $45,000 per seat. And remember, we’ve already got PSL’s. Not so permanent huh (now they’re saying the new PSLs are only guaranteed for 30 years which I guess is better than 25)? The rollover credit is in 1999 dollars so it’s hardly enough for a nose bleed seat. The cheapest seats in the lower bowl were still like $25,000 a pop. So my family is very likely going to just let the credit go and wash their hands of the team or buy a cheap PSL and then sell it just to preserve their rollover credit. Obviously the stadium deal was corrupt from the get go with the bogus financial study that the team conducted and no one did an independent fact checking of. But Jesus Christ, I’m thinking this whole thing was a cash grab to get new PSL cash inflow. I mean if they sell 40,000 PSLs at $10,000 a pop average that’s $400 million straight into the hands of the Adams family. So not only is the city building them a stadium but they’re also ratfucking long term fans. Anyone else in a similar situation? Our thoughts exactly. It’s going to be a tech bros and away fans stadium if it wasn’t already. Justafan, and SleepingTitan
IowaOiler
Kind of funny seeing the trajectory of sports....football seems to be turning into a rich mans sport, while golf is becoming more mainstream and playable for the 'common man.' Popular Post nine
A Titans PSL holder recently posted thread on Reddit or somewhere that gave the cost of the options that were presented to them: as I recall, the “most affordable” option was $30-40,000 per seat. So just securing the rights to purchase season tickets for a single seat costs as much as buying brand new mid-priced car. For a family of four, buying PSLs would be like buying a brand new Porsche 911 (Base model MSRP $114K) off the showroom floor. Absolutely ridiculous. The bottom line: the NFL is looking for a big cash-grab of corporate money…and is pricing itself well out of reach for the average NFL fan. And eventually those average fans will start asking why they should continue caring about NFL football when the NFL clearly doesn’t give a shit about them. Popular Post ctm
You should have been given first option on seats in your section. But in the long term grand scheme of things, they did you a favor. PSLs aren't worth it. Take the money, invest it and watch on TV. If you want to go to a game or two, buy on the secondary market. For real lol, idk how seat ownership costs that much. Would take me multiple lifetimes to spend 45k on NFL tickets. At some point they’ll have to drop the price. The problem right now is they’ve got the previous PSL holders by the balls since they’ll lose the money they put in if they don’t buy new ones. For sure. But we don’t get to cash out our original cost of PSLs so it’s easier lose the money or roll it into a new seat and hope you can sell it quickly. Many people we know are just letting it go and washing their hands with this shitty franchise. Aramis
