Popular Post tgo
I'm not going to write a dissertation here, but here are my predictions on who they will pursue as far as free agent targets based on connections and Carthon/Brinker's buy-low M.O. They're going to pursue undervalued assets. Firstly, I think there's a good chance that WR will be BPA at 7 if one of the top 3 are still on the board. Single most likely pick at pick 7 would be Odunze, gun to my head. Re-Sign: Azeez Al Shaair Morgan Cox K'Von Wallace Everyone else walks FA Targets: Phase 1: Calvin Ridley Jonah Williams Andre James Mekhi Becton Kendall Fuller or Chidobe Awuzie Bryce Huff or Za'Darius Smith Antonio Gibson Generic Cost Effective Second Tier Safety (Stone/Maye/Gipson, etc. ) Phase 2 (at or near minimum level contracts): Ronald Darby Brandon Allen Oren Burks CJ Uzomah Phase 3, post-injury Arik Armstead DJ Reader Should leave around 20 million in operating cap space to start the season after the rookie pool is accounted for. Most likely I'll be totally off on several of these, but then some of them will happen - so take what you like, leave the rest. Really exciting FA period coming up for the first time in a long while. Thrill
That list of targets would be pretty pricey if we actually got all of them. Maybe Ridley can be had at a slight discount. I wouldn’t spend too much on Gibson either. Might be able to get Swift, Singletary, or Dobbins for the same price. If you’re willing to spend a little more we could probably get ekeler as a mentor/split back for a few million more. I also think the jets will throw pretty good money at Huff since they’re all in for this year.

Some of them would be pricey, yeah, but you're not gonna pay the same for a Jonah Williams as you would for a Mike Onwenu, for example. Or as much for Andre James as you would for Cushenberry; Ridley vs Mike Evans or Mike Williams, etc. Gibson should pretty cheap with all the backs available and offers a unique skillset as a true route runner. I think Ekeler is close to done personally, but that's just me. Edited March 1 by tgo Justafan, and Thrill
Popular Post Justafan
@tgogreat work as usual. You nailed it. I have a spreadsheet and I have several of the same FA targets listed because they make sense based on the Titans MO. I really like the buy low high athletic traits strategy it seems like they are pursuing. It makes sense given the available cap room and the long list of needs. Big fan of stealing Calvin Ridley from the Jags and I like how you broke it up by phase. I don't think they'll resign Al-Shaair, I do think they'll bring back Autry. Bringing in Williams, Bechti, James, and Ridley gives you maximum flexibility going into the draft. Love that. Also a fan of a low end RB. Not tied to a guy but there will be a bunch of good safeties and RBs available for very affordable contracts and those are definitely two positions they should address in FA where cap dollars will go further. I like Darby as a #2 and you have a good list of phase 2 and 3 FAs but I would need to see a huge drop in price (very possible) for Reader or Armstead for them to be worth it. All in all great stuff. cshumak2
Still feel like we won't spend nearly that much. The continued talk about building for long term success and needing to be disciplined when spending. I get the idea ran probably wants to go into the season with around 35-40 mill or so and have significant rollover to next year's cap. Starkiller
It won’t be hard to spend a bunch in free agency. Just adding 2 starters at OL, a WR, a DL, a LB, and at least 1 CB is going to be expensive. That’s the minimum of what they need. Thrill
Supernope
maybe Jeudy could be had for a day 3 pick. He's still just

OilerTitanHybrid
If they lock on to our boy Odunze, he needs to be #44, for Clint's 44 magnum!
Justafan
That's a pretty reasonable plan that would likely keep them well under the cap. I think people are grossly underestimating how many starters the Titans have to bring in. Bluth, tgo, and DCTitan
rns90
I’d wait on RB there are way too many good rb vs teams that need them. You can probably go into wave 2 and later and still probably get a good one. on the vet S, Maye seems like he’s declining and Gipson (Tashaun) seems like he’s retiring or close to it. I’d avoid those two and sign one of the younger ones. I also could see them signing another WR in wave 2 or 3. You need to put in a returner in the signings as well. Bongo59
I think Byard could be back here. stormi, OILERMAN, and rns90
rns90
Byard would have to take a massive pay cut. And I get the feeling he wasn’t happy about getting traded.
