Face
Sankey is a guy I can't kill Webster for. The dude ran for almost 1800 yards his last year at Washington & had a monster combine. He had the perfect build for a back & had good upside as a receiver. Word was Wiz loved him as well & the RB was a big part of his passing game. Unfortunately Sankey just didn't have the vision, he didn't hit the hole quick enough. But not every pick that doesn't work out is a "bad" pick. I actually remember being concerned about him after 1-2 preseason games. I know that sounds ridiculous but when he got the ball you could clearly see him hesitating, he just couldn't find the space to run quickly enough & that's a pretty fatal flaw for a back. I remember @oldschoolsaying the same thing early on in his 1st preseason. Mythos27, and tgo

I honestly didnt pay attention to his combine but he shouldnt have been the first RB taken that year. He had average burst, speed, vision and agility. No idea why he was picked so high. Most sites had him rated as the 3rd best RB IIRC.

I say that as someone who roots for Penn St & unfortunately have had season tix to the Jets for years. Hackenburg being picked in the 2nd Rd was easily the worst pick ever. The guy is beyond awful, he has absolutely zero feel for the game & no accuracy. There's no way he should've been drafted, much lessnin the 2nd Rd. He's basically just reduced to checking down to backs, he can't process things down the field & deliver a catchable ball. I don't think Mett hd the work ethic, or realized what exactly it took. I think he got frustrated when we drafted Marcus & went into a funk. But he definitely has an NFL QB skill set, I still think he had starter level ability. He made a bunch of throws in his rookie year that Hackenburg can never make. Mettenberger's performances in 2015 were as bad as we've seen from any Titans QB not named Matt Mauck or Rusty Smith. In the last game it was clear that Alex Tanney was a better option than him. But yeah in 2014 he did show some quality traits. The problem was he was too slow with his delivery and was boom or bust. And I'm guessing there were other issues that none of us could see. I remember the first time they showed he and Mariota throwing side by side and it was so obvious that Mettenberger just couldn't compete with Mariota. titanruss, tgo, ChemEngr79, and 1 other

Dude was just running all over the field like every play was a punt return.
