AussieTitanFan08
that sounded really ominous from Mularkey on Dodd, I wouldn't rule out some kind of pass rusher in the first round after listening to that. Omar
NewsToTom
Mularkey did praise Dodd's effort and talked about him working daily to get healthy. That at least is an improvement over what he said during the season around the time they put him on IR. Justafan

TitanDuckFan
Looked and sounded really smokey in there to me. Â It's lying season folks. Don't. Forget. That. Justafan, and TitanTez

(Starter, Role Player, Backup)  This is something Robinson got from the Pats.  It has probably been pointed out before.  But lombardi mentioned it again in a ringer article this week.  Quote  Thankfully, Bill Belichick and I were always on the same page. When Bill joined the Browns in 1991, the two of us spent the better part of his first season designing our grading system. We wanted to define the prospect’s role on our team, and we wanted to predict how long it would take for him to achieve that role. That’s it. Instead of predicting rounds, our system forced our scouts to grade every player as (1) a starter, (2) a potential starter, (3) a developmental player, (4) a backup, or (5) someone who couldn’t make any NFL team. In Belichick’s room, no one was permitted to mention rounds — that job was for useless coffee-guzzling scouts and cliché-spouting TV commentators. Our grading system became a language of its own; it proved to be effective enough that, even all these years later in Foxborough, little has changed. Ever wonder why the Patriots always move backward in the draft? Most times, their draft board features maybe 14 or 15 potential day-one starters — grades dictate everything. Why waste a first-round pick (and first-round money) on one of those 14–15 prospects if you believe you can land one later and land another asset?  LINK  Edited April 25, 2017 by JDot NashvilleNinja, TitanTez, begooode, and 2 others
TampaTitan
Not a whole lot to pick apart and read into there - mostly fluff. This one was probably the one that stands out to me though:           -On BPA vs need at 5, go for player who fits best on football team. There's a few guys we've discussed here about being good "fits" for us. Justafan

Thanks Irish, 2 things: 1) Did Mularkey seem peeved with Henry or was he really just saying "hey, he doesn't have to be here, so I'm not gonna bother him"? 2)When you say "much further along with the schemes" do you mean the team knows the current system better than last year or that they're adding more things to the playbook? Possibly Mike Williams too depending on the direction they want to take the offense. TitanDuckFan, and Justafan

I don't like stirring the pot with these things, but I actually did get the impression he was pretty upset about it, at least at the start. He had a pretty firm "no" to if they talked. But he did go on to say it was his understanding he was in school. with that question he meant further along as they hadn't fully installed and learned the scheme both offensively and defensively last year. However, he did say they after the season they looked at ways to improve the team both schematically and with players.
