Yeah, he was a very good outlet guy on 3rd down. He was kind’ve built like a FB. He was an Ivy League rigjht?

Harvard.

Here's something I dug up last year when talking about Firkser.  Since 1978 here are the only WRs/TEs who have caught at least 75% of their targets with at least 150 yargets.  This was relatively late in the season so maybe he's gone under 75% but the point remains:

It feels good, but we can't get complacent. As an undefeated team, we're gonna get everyone's best from here on out.

Levis has gone from awful to whatever is worse than awful.

Zach Lyons just said on the radio that Sam Darnold said the seahawks did a full game plan for their backups against the Titans.

Which plays?  There was a blown coverage on the TD, a blown assignment on a run and a drop by Tate.  Also the 4th and short play was a weak effort.  I'm sure that most of the starters aren't quite as focused as they'd be, or should be, come opening day, whereas Seattle is playing guys trying to get a roster spot.  This IS their season.

Again, it's entirely possible that this team is no good.  But the important part if you're looking for things that matter is more what happens in these joint practices than what we're seeing tonight in vanilla plays with guys that have different motivations.

Here is the thing though scine. These guys are paid to be professionals. Many of them are playing for a coaching staff that didn't draft him. A lack of effort or focus to the level it would take to justify these results is even more concerning to me than the mistakes I'm seeing because that would indicate a team that is not only completely checked out but also unprofessional. Of course it's reasonable to expect the focus to sharpen and level of effort to increase once the live bullets start flying but surely it's reasonable to expect the baseline to be higher than this? I really don't think effort is that problem out there today, in fact, I'd say it's downright laughable to suggest as much.

What's more important to you?  The fact that by all accounts the 1s on offense hung with the 1s on Seattle's defense in the joint practice Friday or what we saw tonight?

Given that tonight was against back ups, what I saw tonight. If tonight was against the Seahawks starters I'd be way less concerned and would weigh the joint practices much higher as I normally do. I just can't ignore this kind of performance against this low of a level of competition.

he was cooked before that... that game didn't prove anything one way or the other which is my entire point.

Yes because he was a bad QB. Rarely do you see good QBs struggle with fundamentals against vanilla defenses. That’s the only point I’m making
