You're getting called out directly and you're ducking the smoke. I'm right here. You're judging effort from results and ignoring plays that directly contradict your narrative. Trust me, I'm not the one being embarrassed. No smoke bro.. I watched the first few drives because I was bored and turned it off. I haven't watched a single snap of any other preseason games. You on the other hand admit to watching tons of preseason. Good luck with that....

In your estimation are these mostly mental/physical mistakes or mistakes due to an obvious lack of effort? I'm not just talking about the Helm play. Which plays? There was a blown coverage on the TD, a blown assignment on a run and a drop by Tate. Also the 4th and short play was a weak effort. I'm sure that most of the starters aren't quite as focused as they'd be, or should be, come opening day, whereas Seattle is playing guys trying to get a roster spot. This IS their season. Again, it's entirely possible that this team is no good. But the important part if you're looking for things that matter is more what happens in these joint practices than what we're seeing tonight in vanilla plays with guys that have different motivations. TerryBoats
The defense is concerning. Offensively, I think things need more time to gel in a game setting. And they got away from the run early, which was highly effective. I'm a bit concerned about the receivers, which seemed to possibly be a strength of the team but those guys look like a bunch of JAGs. We were all concerned when Mariota and Levis looked terrible in preseason Im of the opinion that the only thing that really matters in preseason is seeing your QB play pretty well. Ward was fine today which is the bar for me Preseason games are the only practice where the QB isn’t donning the red “don’t touch me “ jersey. Their whole demeanor can change when they know 320lb men are trying to annihilate them.

Ward was fine today which is the bar for me My general rule of thumb is that if a team/player plays really well during the preseason particulary against backs ups that's a nothing burger. You expect good players to play well against a lower level of competition in an environment that offers less pressure. If a player/team plays extremely poorly in such an environment, that's a cause for at least some concern. If it's your starters playing poorly vs back ups, that's a little more concerning. If it happens twice, yeah, that's a worthy at least of a conversation. Saleh challeneged the DBs to play better after they struggled in the last preseason game. Maybe someone should tell him he's overreacting because it doesn't matter at all. IrishTitansFan

Ward was fine today which is the bar for me I wasn't. I laughed when the captain of the bottom 5 started talking about PSG2 and Mariota a few years back. I really don't think fans understand how much game planning, the top 10-20 plays the offense plans to run that week, how the personnel and formation groupings are installed, factor into things. Offenses are basically playing backyard football in these preseason games while spending all week in practice installing their real offense. I wish Saleh had the balls to sit his starters all preseason because he clearly doesn't give a fuck. You could see it on the sidelines. Maybe he was scared of being called soft by not playing them? No idea but if you are going to play your starters against the champs backups, act like you care.

If he was just a bit quicker/bigger he could've been a starting TE for a long time. Yeah, he was a very good outlet guy on 3rd down. He was kind’ve built like a FB. He was an Ivy League rigjht?
