It isn't a stretch. Borgonzi didn't say "Tate was our top rated player". He said"he was one of our top rated players". There's no win on either side of the argument. We will never know the answer to that question. Truth here. None of us know for sure who the selection would have been if the jets and cards had picked different players. Faulk has crazy potential and the way he was used leads me to believe he can be developed. The Tate pick showed that Borgonzi was well aware of the draft board. There was a big run on WR towards the back end. Boston maybe would have been there...I like Tate and Faulk better than Reese and Boston. They have different potentials. Reese could end up being like Micah Parsons and Faulk might end up like Montez Sweat crossed with Arik Armstead, which is still elite but a peg lower than Parsons. Some love getting help for Ward others think its a crime against football that Borgonzi took Tate over Reese or Styles. Some see the potential upside in Faulk others can't get onboard trading up into the first round for an EDGE that doesn't have great pass rushing production. The Hill Jr pick is the one generally liked by most as they can see what Saleh can do with an athletic LB like him. To me there is nothing dumber than media people questioning pick value or quality of players based on mock drafts made by guys not in NFL front offices. Tate was clearly the ideal pick for multiple teams in the top 10. Legaltitan, begooode, Alcibiades, and 2 others

Ppl went nuts I was saying we'd pass on both edges and now that we passed on 1- ppl just shrug. I think we passed on both. You could say its confirmation bias for me too on Bailey but they got a bigger DE- just like I was saying instead of a speedster tweener. Not sure I agree re bailey but you make a really good point. We passed on Reese, passed on a trade took Tate and traded up to get a guy the opposite of bailey and Reese Pragidealist

Usually the real answer is based on some pencil necked dork predicting he's go later. Pragidealist, Alcibiades, and Thrill

Could be totally made up because anyone could make that statement and have a good possibility of being right. Pragidealist, and airmcnair22
Bongo59
Still think Bain will be the best of Bailey and Reese. In Tampa he will be let loose.
Legaltitan
If I had to guess I would say our board was bailey, Tate, then maybe love. Just looking at their excitement over the pick and using common sense that's my guess. Alcibiades, and oldschool

I wouldn't be shocked if they had Tate over bailey based on the point prag made. What did we do at edge? We traded draft capital too e up and get the total opposite edge from bailey. I think it was always between Love and Tate. Hell.. the DE they traded up for is 275-285. Alcibiades, Starkiller, and NashvilleNinja

They drafted him to play 5T, more like what Denico Autry used to play. Different positions, so it's not really a fair comparison to how they would have viewed Bailey or other pass rushers who would have been drafted to play LEO. rns90, IsntLifeFunny, and begooode
