We don't fuck around, wait for runs to start and then get a guy, make panic pics, unnecessary trades, etc. The guys set their board, feel confident, and go out and make it happen. That should be the expectation, but we suffered many years here where that didn't happen. These guys will either work or they won't, but you can be damn sure that the guys we drafted were drafted because they loved them and fit perfectly within their plans. Last year's draft felt the same. We doubted Dike and others and it has played out pretty well IMO Exactly. I'm at the point now of Trust in Don B that when he makes a pick or brings in a FA, if I'm opposed, I need to figure out why I'm wrong.

Generally, draft is such a crapshoot that I think opportunity matters more than specifics and trading up raises the stakes of hitting on your (artificially low number of) picks.  I like that they kept pick count with this trade. begooode, and titanruss

There's a balance for sure. Being aggressive for the sake of being aggressive is also dumb. These guys just feel like they have utmost confidence in their board and a pretty good feel for the flow of the draft. Just feels different. Now if it all goes to shit I reserve the right to change my mind lol

I hate that they could miss out on a pool of over 70 players. titanruss

freakingeek
The Athletic gave the Tate pick a B+. Then moving up for a versatile edge in Faulk was aggressively going after guys that fit the scheme and could have easily been off the board by the time we picked in the 2nd round. They have a clear vision of what they want this team to look like. I really thought they would trade back but I’m happy with both players, particularly the way the draft was falling. Tate’s ability to work the sidelines  and come back to the quarterback fits Cams style perfectly and will pay dividends right off the bat. The dude in NFL ready which is what we need right now. Stan
Tate is right pick. Daboll is going to have him playing like Nabers, his first seasons with giants.

abenjami
Overall I am happy with these picks. I would have preferred to have taken Reese at #4 and then a WR in the late first via trade up or with our early second. This was my preference because I believe Reese is a better prospect than Tate and I think the second tier WR talent is better than the second tier defensive guys like Faulk. But what we did is my second choice and it's good drafting IMO. Bongo59
I think the value of Faulk is pretty dam good. Â While I do not like him, it is because TN has never had a Saleh D and it is very clear to me Saleh wants a Faulk like DE. Â So I am not going to talk smack about the guy since our scheme has changed. Â Now Tate was overdrafted by slot for need. Â This guy gives me Plexico Burress vibes. Â I think he'll be fine but nothing special. Â DL and WR room done. Â We need depth now at OL, DB and LB. Â I think LB is the biggest need now not OL.
