No idea where this nugget fits so thought it might worth starting a thread for all Titans non HC offseason discussion.   This was meant to happen last offseason but Sweat never showed up so

Who will we draft? The answer has been there the whole time.

That’s a lot of hooch

I already don't see him as a future dominant pass rushing edge. If he turns out to be Derrick Morgan I won't love it but I can live with it. If we can put a true stud on the other side of him though, watch out. Derrick Morgan looked pretty damn good once he had someone on the other side that didn't let the QB escape out the back door every time. I will say this for Faulk though, he has more natural ability than Femi, much more play strength, and he has shown he can be very disruptive vs the run by actually penetrating the LOS. If that can somehow be translated to passing downs, we might be on to something. Again though, the most likely outcome is he's never able to become that guy. Let's find out though.

That (Faulk) would be the guy I’d pay attention to in terms of pass rushers on the 2026 Titans .

Seems like he at least familiar with playing the EDGE/DE spot .  He did produce at a high level  in 2024 in a major conference.  And also he’s one of the younger players in the 2026  draft . Those guys seem to pan out more .

there’s more there to mould Faulk into a pass rusher than Femi.

While I agree with you, his college reps show that he played 2 positions essentially. He has the short area quickness. And I put (almost) no stock in season 1 for evaluating rookies.

Right but while historically most people have interpreted a guy's lack of experience at the position as a positive that indicates almost guaranteed upside, I see it more as a negative because it's unlikely that you're going to cram 3 years of development into the small window the guy is on a rookie contract. Projects at this position early pan out.

He's also longer, more physical, and, IMO a little more coordinated. Whether or not that translates to pass rush development is an open question though the likely answer is no. We'll see.

This is him vs a 1st round T with good numbers

It's clear that he doesn't have the burst to be much of a threat around the edge, but he's good with his hands and gave him quite a bit of trouble with his inside moves.

Seems like a guy who would be a mediocre pass rusher if you just left him at edge all game long, but there are some real strengths to utilize for a good D coach- which I definitely believe that we have

Femi is built more to be a wide 9 edge rusher while Faulk is built to be more of a balanced DE. They each seem well suited physically to the specific roles they are being given. It’s too soon to worry about anything else until we see them in action in Saleh’s D.

I remember when Chris Simms said Tannehill was just as good a runner as Mariota in 2019 when he took over and PK lost it

Tannehill was functionally a way better running threat than Mariota

I was going to say Mariota was a faster runner, but on those long runs by Tannehill I don't know. He got up the field pretty swiftly himself.

Tannehill was a down field throwing threat. It opened up the underneath.

I don't remember any arguments here on who was a better runner. I don't even remember it being discussed.

I remember not wanting Marcus to run because he was built so frail and kept getting hurt.

Go look at Tanny's WR stats at A&M. Hes always been way more athletic than Mariota and a far superior skill player. Lol at Sherman for having Tanny play WR for the better part of two years to make room for 2 bums A&M alums dont even care to remember.

I didn't even know he played receiver. I'm sure I encountered that fact at some point, but I didn't retain it.

Mariota was still more than good enough as a runner if he could have just developed into a better QB while he was here.

Thats a strange one to forget. They mentioned it during games all the time.
