Titans Offseason Discussion Thread

You think that was how Callahan wanted his offense executed? I know Cam likes to bag a few big bucks a game for his wall, but Daboll's offense is a lot more volume-centric for short-to-intermediate passes, is it not?

Ultimately, the QB makes the call on a play by play basis. Most modern play calls have at least one deep and one short passing option and it's yours to the QB to determine where to go based on coverage. Cam prefers to go deep and so he's gonna take those shots.

No idea where this nugget fits so thought it might worth starting a thread for all Titans non HC offseason discussion.   This was meant to happen last offseason but Sweat never showed up so

Who will we draft? The answer has been there the whole time.

Thanks bob.

Also, is it just me or does the guy on the left looking up at him look like lyndon b. Johnson with giant ears?

If it's a president then it's FDR-ish for me. Its also one of Rockwells' 4 paintings based on FDR's speech "the 4 freedoms"

But I think it's just one of his regular models. There were several people and friends he would re-use for references. Pretty sure I read that face is in a couple of his paintings.

I actually almost put fdr as well. Went back and forth on it. I think it was the nose that sold me.

Anyway, interesting fact on the painting. 🍻

Titans also haven't done near enough to help Cam.  The IOL as it currently stands at C and RG is worse than last year.  Adding Robinson and Bellinger is a good start but the offensive skill positions as a whole are still way below average with no elite talent.

If only there was a wr who runs good routes, has great ball tracking and body control with super human hands available in the draft 🤔

It would be hard to pass on an elite pass rusher to finish up the Dline though.

If you count Femi as a DL, they have 4.

I was counting femi. I just dont know if him or johnson are the "guy". Femi is more of an anvil edge. Johnson is a hammer but is he going to be a game wrecker was what I was getting at.

I still prefer a tate, malachi lawrence draft. But if they want to go Bailey/reese then cooper/boston whatever I get it.

And TE is likely worse off from a playmaking receiver standpoint though WR is a bit better rn.

The Titans hit free agency with the idea of improving their pass defense. If you're going to contend in the NFL you have to be able to rush 4, cover and limit explosive plays. It's exactly how Seattle won the SB. They sign JFM and two starting CBs after trading for Jermaine Johnson.

They still need talent at edge and right now I'd bet that's where they go with the 4th pick. I think they need another safety. I bet it's a higher priority than people think. Teams love the 3 safety sets.

The idea of Simmons and JFM next to each other is pretty exciting. Simmons was wreaking havoc without anyone else of note already. You add a difference maker at edge and it could be a real team strength.

Second rendition of autry/simmons in the middle
