Is it just me or does anyone else think calling torn ligaments a sprain is dumb?

Great news

people just parsing words. I listened to Ward's presser and no where did he say anything that would put him at odds with team on surgery. He simply said he'll leave that up to the training room. Much ado about nothing

He did say that he "doesn't know yet" about the surgery.

That's pretty clearly not cohesive with information coming out that he definitely doesnt need surgery.

The fans/media would be much more relieved if they would release the information on the actual grade of the injury... but they havent been detailed yet, so combined with the above, it smells of hiding or conflicting information

No sling and hands in pockets

He's a smart dude. He knows we need a coach to feel confident in his health. Surgery needed or not, this definitely projects well.

I think someone posted this above. not sure it was greyed out for me. Sounds like its not a grade 3 sprain and just a normal separated shoulder.

A grade 3 sprain is a separated shoulder. It's when the collarbone fully separates from the shoulder

I'm aware. just using layman terms because the degree appears to be less severe.

I just watched a doctor give his opinion. He said there's no way a QB on throwing shoulder could opt out of surgery for Grade 3. Said he also doesn't believe they had the required equipment to properly diagnose at the facility.

I'm sure Cam will get a 2nd opinion before making a decision. If I'm him, I'm going right to Andrews.

Is Andrews still alive? He's got to be like 100 by now! He did surgery on my brother...in like 1989!

This doesn’t necessarily make me feel good about the injury… hope they know what they’re doing.

From what I read surgery increases the chances the collarbone/another bone will set in the right place - you want to guarantee it sets right, do surgery.  I think for a quarterback, they should side with surgery to make sure it is done right.  If not, I assume he would need surgery later plus rebreaking it under surgery to set it correct. Experts said if even off 1% it could materially affect the throwing motion.

A cousin used to sell a yearly retainer to Dr. Andrews for always access to my cousin's jet.  AS I recall my cousin might have bought the jet just for that contract - the retainer and revenue when the doctor used it paid more than the note on the jet. The doctor did it because it was a bigger tax savings expensing it directly against his services for which he was flying.

and don't forget, he wasn't in a sling for the presset. Hard to imagine it was a grade 3 and he's out of a sling less than 24 hours later. Sounds like it was really minor.

No chance its a grade 3.

Yeah no way he has that and not in a sling. That shit would be painful, and it would be visible.

Unless the staff asked him to go out there with no sling so he wouldn't scare off coaches. Conspiracy bs --But, I mean stranger things have happened.
