Terrible injury because of location. But, he's young. He'll be fine. I just hate that he'll miss some offseason work, as he was really improving. It's a setback, which is never fun.

OTOH, at my age, I can get a grade 3 just trying to get up off the couch, if I'm not careful. Then I'd be out for a year or two. Fortunately, I'm an off hand jerker. So that part would be fine.

It feels almost obligatory, but we have to tag @woolfolksunclesuncle any time jerking, sucking, kissing, or basically any type of sexual stuff is posted. Might even be in the bylaws.

Is it just me or does anyone else think calling torn ligaments a sprain is dumb?

"Ward being removed from the game with a shoulder injury after a scoring drive. The report came out later that Ward had a grade 3 sprain, which means there is a displaced bone. I happened to be with a world-renowned orthopedic surgereon after the game, and he mentioned that the Grade 3 sprain is a tough injury for a QB on his throwing shoulder.

He also mentioned that there isn’t a good surgery for that injury and if he is left to just heal, he may wind up dealing with pain in the shoulder throughout his career. Not something you want to hear about the future of your franchise in Week 18."  - Beddingfield

I feel even better about Ward's recovery now.

You're being willfully naive about this.

It's not some career ending injury obviously, and it's not the worst possible shoulder injury out there, but it's a big problem that could have long term affects and it definitely will hinder Ward's development this year. That's really not good.

my point is Beddingfield is a moron so anything he claims can be dismissed.

The injury sucks but its 2025 and guys come back from this all the time.

What veteran QB would you prefer they sign? To me it would need to be Joe Flacco or Jimmy Garoppolo.

I tend to think they will just keep Levis around, personally.

Otherwise, I like Tyrod Taylor as an option who wouldn't change Ward's offensive design.

You’ve been exceedingly negative about this (and the team lately).

almost gleeful about taking the dark side of this.

My dumbass is just hoping for the best.  Reporting on recovery time seems to be all over the place.  Above someone posted that 6 weeks without surgery is the typical time for a grade 3.  Even if that time frame triples from a rocky recovery it should still leave Ward time to make it back for camp and still possibly even time for a few weeks with a qb guru.

He will be back for training camp so I’m not particularly concerned. It just sucks that he misses the chance to work on his mechanics this offseason because he needs that. That’s going to probably be a 2027 thing now.

Even so there's other things he can work on.  Some of it was footwork related.  He can still work on things like footwork and pocket maneuvering.  Last I looked a shoulder doesn't impact your ability to walk.

Well he might be able to do some footwork but if you can’t tie it to your throwing motion then it’s probably of limited value
