If you can’t win a few games for some culture and still rebuild your franchise with a top 5 pick, sell the franchise.

 

You should be able to do both.

And they likely didn't watch the game.  It's completely irrelevant also.  Ward did what he had to do.  He essentially left the field up 31-17.  That's all that matters.

Moral victories only exist through high school sports. This is exponentially amplified in professional sports.

 

Having 1 top first round pick, unless you need a QB or had a fluke season, it's not as good as having multiples firsts and additional top 100 picks. Winning that game just lowered the odds of that being possible for the team with the worst roster in the NFL.

 

For someone that loves analytics, I'd figure that you would understand the empirical and statistical evidence of that statement.

 

One can root for individual improvements while realizing/rooting that the best thing for the franchise is to lose out the rest of the season.

If it means they might get the picks to make the team consistently good to great, then hell yes. I don't understand how you could rather win this game than have maybe three additional first round picks. It makes no sense.

I'm not worried about pick 1-5, as I don't think nobody in this draft is on superstar status. The top 5 prospects can literally play musical chairs to be the #1 pick. I just wanted to fleece a stupid GM into getting a massive haul for the #1 pick.

 

I guess beating an awful Browns team by 2 due to the Browns incompetence is more valuable though.

You guys crying about this win dont realize that we are still very likely the worst team in the NFL. You're getting sucked into one week. There's nothing good for the young and developing guys to experience a 1-16 season.

 

Furthermore, it was unlikely-- bad teams steal a few wins each season. And the same can be said for the other bad teams-- they will likely steal a win or two as well (like the Saints did today). 

 

By the end of the season is a good possibility we end up with the 1st pick. This time last year we all knew we were the worst team in the league but we weren't sitting with the 1st pick either

The play for the two was the right play.  Chances are if you go for a two twice you'll get it once.  So you hope you get it the first time then you can win at the end, zimilar to what the Titans did at Miami in 2023.
