How are the optics terrible? She knew the offense was terrible and tried to find an alternative to firing Callahan earlier by telling them to let someone else call the plays. When that didn’t help she decided to pull the plug.

Because you do not want your owner messing with football operations...

rumor is Amy was the one demanding all the wr screens

Why hire Brinker and give him total control over football decisions if you're going to meddle and make decisions like this.    She's just like her dad if this story is true and there is litt

It's 1 of 32. It is going to attract a quality candidate. The bears fired Matt Eberflus midseason and hired Ben Johnson.    This whole notion of "no one is going to want the job" is bullshit

She's just like her dad if this story is true and there is little hope to fixing things.

This also makes it likely she got emotional after the Eagles game, where AJ Brown went off and fired Robinson mid season

Yep - I honestly lost faith in her decision making after how the whole Robinson/Vrabel fiasco and its aftermath played out.

It really could be worse though - at least she's not meddling in daily personnel decisions like Jerry Jones/Mike Brown/Woody Johnson.

And she has the edge over her dad in that she's willing to spend tons of resources on the team. But yes, she is just as impatient and just as mercurial as Bud.

And to be fair, it was the right decision to take away his play calling after he clearly proved he couldn't manage games and didn't have a mastery of situational football. Not to mention being historically conservative to the extent that it would make Jeff Fisher and Mike Mularkey giggle.

It's as if you guys didn't read the OP. If McCormick is correct then that's the definition of an owner meddling.

yes. The point is decouple the two decisions. using the fact she fired Callahan as evidence she meddles and then supporting it with the play calling report is nuts. One is okay, one isn't.

I'm not saying it. McCormick is saying it.

Has McCormick every broken a story of this magnitude? Dude doesn't even know what decade it is. I'll need that report to be confirmed elsewhere before I spend time on it. That being said, if true its a really bad look.

She also reportedly nixed that Derrick Henry trade directly. I won't be surprised if she would take a similar stance regarding Simmons.

I don't think she's meddlesome to the extent of many of these other shitty owners though at least. Like nixing random trades because Woody Johnson's son told him the player's Madden Rating was too low.

Go back and read his article again.  Focus on his sources of info. I have no idea whether he's correct or not, but his sourcing isn't the best.

I've been around this block with McCormick before and not ready to accept what he writes as gospel.  Maybe it's true, but I need to see more.

Even if all true, you think working for Haslem, Tepper or JJ is any easier?  It goes with the territory.  That's why they are well paid and have historically short tenures everywhere.

It's not like those teams get top shelf GMs or HCs.  But Borgonzi was the assistant GM for KC - he's the cream of the crop.  He didn't need to jump at the first job opportunity like Carthon - his name would remain hot as long as he decided that he wanted to stay in KC and could get his GM job of choice.

Firing jrob midseason was the only bad move and thats assuming there wasn't some other behind the scenes reasons for it. She tried to hire a GM to work with Vrabel on personnel, he sucked and Vrabel was impossible to work with. The victimization of Vrabel by the local and national media is disgusting. A complete fabrication of what went down.

AAS is being held to a much higher standard than most owners who are allowed to do whatever they want in the media. @TheBukafax nailed it. A lot of this is that she is a woman and though most won't say it out loud, many fans and posters here don't believe women should be in positions of power in pro sports.

That's only thing giving me hope this isn't true right now. That maybe McCormick is going senile and reporting things from the decade his brain currently lives in.
