The Athletic article makes it clear that Lamar came over to the owners house and everything changed.  They have to redo Lamar's deal and he said if he stays I want out because of Monkin and HArbaugh would not fire Monkin.

Monkin does suck so on this one Lamar was right.  Shocked that Harbaugh thought he had enough juice with owner considering what Lamar has done for Ravens.

I also did not know that the connection between Borgo and Harbaugh was a real one.  That kinda surprised me.

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

All that aside, just grading him on performance, you gotta understand that he failed. And we do NOT yet know whether Cam is a better QB than Tua. We certainly hope, but don't really know. I'd give it a coin flip at this point.

It seems pretty likely that Cam is going to be better than Tua based on what we’ve seen so far, barring injuries.

And McDaniel is going to get judged on his record in Miami but he made the playoffs in each of his first 2 seasons as HC before Tua’s concussions took a toll.

I hope so. But with my premise in hand, what's gonna happen if Cam isn't as good as Tua? Less results with lesser player.

Idk I'm out on McDaniel for HC. I'd let him take OC if they hired Saleh or Harbaugh or (insert any "leader of men")

All signs point to Cam being superior to Tua. He failed because he was saddled with a bad QB.

He got fired because he failed. His style goes against the grain. Remember Ran mentions about sleeping on the plain? I'm not saying I disagree with McDaniel's style, I'm speculating that AAS and Borgonzi will. Brinker, Borgonzi, Nihil all exude professionalism.

McDaniel has a casual appearance, looks like he's wearing fucking pajamas half the time. His delivery at press is weird, to say the least, sometimes aloof.

On top of all that, you have Shanahan offense and Cosell saying it might not be the best fit for Ward.

Pure speculation. Got it.

The dude sounds like he can coach, knows what he is talking about, and would succeed paired with Borgo.

I’d be thrilled with McDaniel as OC in the short term, but I’d expect him to be gone in a year or 2

McDaniel- reportedly is obssessed with football.  Sleeping on the plane was not about style or professonalism. It was about him not being all about football all the time.  That is not an issue with McDaniel

Yeah, I don't think Borgonzi gives a fuck about someone appearing to be professional. Callahan could talk a lesbian into bed when it came to football. He looked the part from a bullshitting standpoint, but the results spoke for themselves.

McDaniel's Dolphins hung 70 points on the Broncos a couple years ago. That's just one box score but it's evidence he knows how to shit gold on the field. That's the kind of professionalism you should be looking for in a coach.

Then we're hosed anyway and we're drafting a QB in 2 years.

1) We do know Cam is better than Tua. 2) he failed?  That's a judgement call. With Dolphins ownershp and Tua-  I judge he did not.   His success there was pretty impressive in terms of the offense and what he did with teh Dolphins. With ath logic Harbaugh failed bc he was fired.  Stefansky failed with 2 winning seasons of 6.  Nagy failed bc in Chicago. If you only want a coach who has never failed or never been fired.. you're going to only be looking at unproven guys.  By that logic, Andy Reid failed when he was fired by philly.

I do not think he failed. If you do.. cool. But you're setting a bar that almost no one can live up to.

Mcdaniel "failed" in Miami but Saleh didn't with the Jets?
