I am rooting heavily for Vrabel to fail.  So far he's 12-3 and likely 14-3 on a team that won four games a year ago.  He got coach of the year already once, may get it again, and since he left the team that he was fired from (justifiably so) that team has gone in the tank.  I don't know what else you want me to say.  What will it take for you to admit that Vrabel is a good coach?

I'd like you to include the entire story.  NE has played one of the easier schedules in NFL history, the Titans were in the tank way before Vrabel was fired and he was a major contributing factor to that, and he has a losing playoff record.  Compare that to Harbaugh....are they the same?

Harbaugh also does a hell of a job developing coaches...meathead just wants yes-men.  The longer he's in NE, the worst they will be.

Nope, Harbaugh's resume is clearly better.  My point was more about players don't always like the coach but it doesn't make the coach not a good coach.  I think Vrabel's style can wear on people and it was time for him to go (he clearly wanted out).

 

Vrabel may not have a losing playoff record after this year by the way.

What Vrabel does well is crack down on disciplin. So he can take what others have built and make people work hard for a short time and improve teams but he's a micromanager. He ran off Dean Pees and installed Bowen, the defense was never the same. And I'll continue to blame him for what happened to the offensive line. I'll always remember the story of how the line had a plan for an upcoming game and then Vrabel came in and threw it all away and put it something simplier.

I do think this is the year he needs to win.  Next year he has to play the AFC West and NFC North plus the first place teams in the AFC North, AFC South and NFC West.

It's wait and see mode with Vrabel but it's going to be funny if he doesn't go into a shell like here because he doesn't think he has to protect his QB from himself.

I give Pees a lot of credit for that run as well. Vrabel had a perfect Cinderella Story here to start his career.

 Didn't a story or a rumor come out at some point that Pees retired again b/c Vrabel kept stepping in and not letting him handle the defense?
