I don't follow college much and don't pay attention to the prospects until close to the draft.    Early on I fell in line with the talk of it being a terrible draft class for QBs. Terrible y

The Giants offered a haul and the Titans quit even listening. The NFL decision makers know.   I also think it's pretty funny it actually took a few miracles for the Titans to fall into the #

Mahomes played at Texas Tech. Allen played at Wyoming. Level of competition isn't as important as traits that translate to the pro game.

The interview with Borgonzi from Long was really good when they talked about Ward.

Ward's preseason numbers were overall pretty pedestrian. If you didn't see him play you wouldn't even begin to understand the elite NFL passing traits he demonstrated.

I'm more convinced than ever Ward will be an elite franchise QB.

He processes so fast and also has such a quick release. He's going to make the pass protection so much better just because of that.

I also underestimated Ward's arm talent. Borgonzi talked about that being something that jumped out to him. He can get the ball to a location with velocity that makes it impossible for a DB to make up ground. Combine that with his ability to throw with anticipation and that's impossible to defend.

The other thing Borgonzi talked about was Ward's "spatial awareness". Ward can read the defense and place the ball into windows, like the pass on the Jefferson drop. He also showed this in week 1 to Ridley throwing over the LB into a space.

Ward needs to clean up some things and they need better weapons but I fully expect Ward to be among the top QBs in a short time frame. Mahomes, Allen and Ward.....

No, no, no......

Trade down, trade down!

You know the marshmallow fluff pass Allen threw to RockStrepo Friday night that was knocked away by the defender? Ward would've had the ball there before tea and crumpets were served, walked over there, and had a celebratory brunch to commemorate the completion with his bud before the defender even knew where it was going.

I love that Ward has brought the fanbase together but this thread is an elaborate dressed up "hey guys, to all of you who tried to tell and convince me and others like me from December 2024 -April 2025, I actually was wrong"

wait till he improves his footwork in the offseason and starts stepping into throws. Its why I always pushed back on the idea he has a B+ or worse arm. even with shitty mechanics, he can make any throw with pace. Sure he's not Mahomes or Allen but dude clearly has an A grade arm. That was obvious seeing him play at Wash St a few years ago.

it would have helped Strep's chances to have seen some action with Cam under center. as far as i can remember, X didn't see any snaps with his buddy

I was just fucking around. We don't need to turn a Cam lovefest into a charity event for his bud..

But I will say this... Cam is now the prom king of the forum, and even has Oman saying he has the potential to be elite. Well, Mr Future Elite thought enough of XR that he was pounding the table for him throughout the draft after the Titans took him.

Does Cam just magically not know ball when it comes to what XR brings to the table?

But I digress... back to Cam being the next Mahomes. 🤘

The more I saw of Ward the more I liked, to the point where I thought he was a legit franchise potential QB. I don’t pretend to know draft prospects beforehand

I did love Abdul Carter but you gotta have a QB

There may have been outliers, like @AvgJoe who is a Hurricane fan and knew early, but most of us only really started becoming aware of Ward when we knew the Titans had locked down the 1st overall pick. Even then we had to wade through the Ward/Sanders, "it's a weak AB class", and "do we take such n such or trade back" noise before we figured out that Ward had to be the guy.

He's about to to face some major, sustained adversity, each play as well as over the full season, for maybe the first time ever, and I want to see how he responds to it. If he's down 28-3 in the 3rd quarter in Denver, and maybe loses the first 4 or 5 games badly, we'll find out what kind of material he's really made of.

There's not gonna be anyone open by 4 or 5 yards, and this team doesn't have a talent edge against anyone we play.

I expect things to be really, really bad for awhile, but time will tell.
