Sometimes his job was containment rather than rushing the passer.

 

He certainly needs development, but he has a ton of upside if the coaches can turn him into a real edge rusher.

I turned it off after one of those plays.  I'm glad that I revisited it, because there's a lot to like.  I'd like to see some examples of players with low pass rush efficiency numbers who improved upon entering the NFL.

Yeah of course. But it wasnt the containment/pass rush, its the 2 seconds standing still staring or the delay when he could hit them both and disrupt the play.

He runs a 4.7 too so it is not like he is a traits guy. He’s a big, slow edge rusher who has no experience at his position . no surprise to me the scouts were fired after this draft. Unfortunately, I don’t think the new GM had his guys in place early enough to offset some of these picks. Next year’s draft should be much better now that many of the scouts were let go. 

You think Borgonzi got fooled by the area scouts or there was some conspiracy to choose him that he just missed on, lol?

 

People just need to get a couple things through their head:  they were never taking any of these sketchy character players, and they also had specific not just measurables, but as Kuharsky revealed, BMI and lean muscle mass played a part in it as well. 
 

So when you add the high character to the body types they wanted, that just eliminated a bunch of talked about “names“ that just didn’t measure up to what they wanted.

 

And it seems everyone knew we loved Oludejo. Even Kiper started projecting him to us at 35 right after the Senior Bowl. 

 

Biggest thing they will teach him to do is convert speed to power effectively, and from what they’ve seen in the time there observed and spent with him, they think he can learn.

 

Next are his hands placement and refining his pass rush moves. He needs to have a few more but his chop timing is already really good. And he’ll set the edge in the run game.
 

Also, because of this trade down, they got Kevin Winston, Jr., who also fits the body profile as well as the intangibles, and would have been a fringe 1st rounder if healthy. 
 

According to PK, even Slater would be #1 in lean muscle mass as a center had he gone to the Combine, #6 as a guard. 
 

Seems pretty clear that trading down and still getting Femi was one of their most preferred outcomes.

He'll be fine. They transitioned him because they had no one else but you can see the traits. I even noticed a wicked inside spin move to get to the QB. He didn't get the sack but that's only because the QB's first read was wide open. He has some juice for sure. 

 

The read option thing will be taken advantage of lolol it is really really bad like bruh just hit someone for fuck's sake!

I think it will improve over time. He may never have the prrfect instinct like reaction for it but moving from inside to out and the change in assignments has to slow that down for him. Instead of just playing it hes thinking. Better that than weaver completely ignoring what he is supose to do and just running wildly into the backfield.

For sure but that video was pretty damn funny. Like 3 or 4 times he's just planted firmly in the ground looking back and forth like WTF do I do??
