I liked him too especially for a 5th round pick, but it’s awfully rich for people who were slobbering all over him a few years ago to now pull the draft capital card on Restrepo. Sure, 5th round is better than undrafted, but both are draft capitals that traditionally fail an overwhelming majority of the time; if I had to guess, I’d actually say there are probably more successful UDFA WRs than there are 5th rounders (though it would mainly be due to the sheer volume of UDFAs compared to 5th rounders). My count was games where he actually saw usage as a wr. He had more games he was active for st but didnt play any wr. And i agree the practice hype was over the top. We should cut him and bring back everyone‘s favorite premier 5th round pick, Kyle Philips. No one ever overhyped him based purely on camp reports and extremely limited film. It's OTAs, it's not even training camp flaming_thumbtack
OILERMAN
Kyle Philips problems were injuries. He was obviously a quality slot when healthy SleepingTitan, oldschool, flaming_thumbtack, and 1 other 1

He said he was able to call the play and execute it despite the fact he was talking shit to Jeff while Callahan was talking to him. Callahan said he has never been around anyone with that ability. Maybe it was sarcasm, but it seemed genuine to me. I mean, I guess it's possible it was coaching direction -- if he actually called the wrong play or protection. But we'll never know that

BudsOilers
There's a clip from Fassel talking about whether Restrepo can play ST and how he's a tweener type that sometimes can do well on units. As many of us have mentioned since the homer hype train started, his shot to make the team is dependent on him being a ST contributor. smokeater

Him and dk both hesitated before they started the rope ladder. He was pretty damn slow though, the other time I saw a clip of the wrs doing this elic went back and did it again after evryone was finished. I think he knows he sucks at it. It doesn't matter really. I mean, who's gonna give a shit that he sucks at running up a ladder on the ground when he's Mossing DBs like he did Hunter a couple years ago? It is funny though that an undrafted scrub is running down a 4th round pick in drills when sucking at drills was supposed to be one of the reasons the scrub fell out of the draft. Could explain some of his issues with drops. And Mossing dbs isn't just about running by them. It's about catching the ball in spite of how well they may have you covered. prometheus, and begooode
