Looking more and more like Carter is the pick

I dont know if that's the takeaway. It's a timeline and financial reason.

We should have traded him last season.

I can say, without a doubt, it was an Honor.

Titans have granted permission to former Pro-Bowl LB Harold Landry to seek a trade, per sources. Landry started all 17 games last season, finishing with 71 tackles, nine sacks, 18 pressures and four p

He's likely been told either take a straight salary cut or be cut.  Allowing him to seek a trade is best for both parties in that situation.

I do think there will be a market for him once Garrett, Sweat, and Crosby get settled. The Eagles victory has reinvogorated the premium on pass rushers. Someone will trade for an All around edge capable of producing 9-10 sacks consistently. And they will pay the salary which will be deemed as very reasonable after this offseason

This draft is so deep at edge in the first three rounds that we could find his replacement in round 2.

The actual thing to think about is the cheaper option that we will most certainly sign out of free agency

Other GMs can figure out that Landry is a likely cut.  Why would they give up anything?

If they want him and can convince him to take a pay cut then maybe they pay a small premium to keep him off free agency and avoid competition for his services.

At least, that’s what the Titans are hoping for…

I wonder if we are moving to a 4 man pass rush/ nickel defense every down ?? Would that require a bigger DE on one side??

Maybe but if they draft Carter he will be their one “smaller” rusher. Not Landry.

Maybe Vrabel would trade for him. He loves Landry.

Yep see if you can get a 4th round pick out of them and offer to pay about $4M of his salary.

Landry went to BC, so a return to the NE/Boston area might be welcomed. Panthers could also make some sense as that is where Landry is from and Panthers have a Pass rush need as well.
