Okay, you subtract a week to ignore one of the worst coverage performances of the season? That's what you're going to hang your hat on to prove your point? Okay.

It still doesn't change the fact that this idea that the STs unit were actually good the last part of the season is pure fantasy. It's simply not true.

I am hanging my hat on the fact that it was clear as day that it improved the final six games of the season and because of that there is absolutely no reason to make a change.  The Titans fired the person that they thought was the biggest problem.  Let’s see how it works out.

Hats off to oldschool for taking the L.    If I’m wrong about something I will as well

Vrabel inherited a good team that was bolstered by Derrick Henry, Kevin Byard, and later Ryan Tannehill, all playing in their primes, and then AJ Brown, Corey Davis, and Jonnu Smith - all behind a ver

well fuck. The L is mine. I'm man enough to admit it.

Because they stopped giving up 80 yard returns and started only giving up 40 yard returns? Okay bro. You do you.

We’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

Sure that’s fine. You guys live in your made up fantasy world if you want to. Over here in the real world, the Titans had one of the worst STs units we’ve ever seen - and that’s with Vrabel’s abominations - and the STs coordinator definitely deserves blame for that.

I'm tired of having a punt returner that is never a threat to return it for a TD. I feel like the teams lack of speed at the skill positions has a lot to do with that. The skill positions on this team have been historically slow for a long time. It's time to prioritize speed.

ST’s did improve as the year went on.

No one said they didn't. They went from historically bad to just bad.

I can't believe people are actually defending Anderson's performance this year.

The blocks aren't there either. They just haven't been good enough. I agree, though that the Titans lack weapons and speed.

You’re completely ignoring my point but that’s fine.

They were a net 0 at the end of the year, thats nothing to be proud of but from where they started out is a miracle.

The dude was a complete disaster for 11 weeks of the season. Historically bad. If you want to blame that on personnel, that's fine, but I don't see how anyone can look at the coverage units and punt block units and say it was just Jackson and a couple of back-end roster guys holding back STs. At some point, if everyone on the unit is incompetent, they had an entire offseason to recognize that and do something about it.

Wasn't it reported that the ST coach assumed these were all grown men and already knew what to do?

Reminds me of the Switzer 90s Cowboys.  Some clips of Aikman airing out his thoughts from that time have popped up in my YT feed.  Apparently Switzer at that age wasn't interested in holding "grown men" accountable anymore and the 90s Cowboys slowly degraded into garbage over the next few years.

Coaching matters.

No one said the ST ended up good but they improved a ton the past 6 weeks to end the season. This is a fact. Doesnt mean they were a good unit and if they move on from the 1st time ST coach fine. But this nonsense they were historically bad all year is just fan drivel.

He’s also a young dude and it was his first time being a coordinator. Coaches need time to improve too. Maybe they won’t be able to keep him because of this screeching fan base wanting blood but I bet Callahan wants to keep him if it was up to him

If there’s one thing I learned from this thread it’s that you should be allowed to be dogshit for a long time then become slightly less dogshit when the heat is on and that should be enough to keep a job!

Another wasted year next year with this staff.
