That's an absolutely wild tweet. The BU guy is unhinged / delusional, or was in the past when I paid attention.

He does put in work (of a sort) and went to some seminars and stuff, I think, but he's ... JAG ... trying to get noticed and wants to start somewhere above the new-hire, grunt scout level. It's just not realistic, not something to encourage.

Hats off to oldschool for taking the L.    If I’m wrong about something I will as well

Vrabel inherited a good team that was bolstered by Derrick Henry, Kevin Byard, and later Ryan Tannehill, all playing in their primes, and then AJ Brown, Corey Davis, and Jonnu Smith - all behind a ver

well fuck. The L is mine. I'm man enough to admit it.

Seems like an idiot

Still like TD though

So explain to us why she needed to keep Robinson, Vrabel, or Carthon?  I mean things were so great with no playoff wins, losing seasons, progressively worse results.....

Absolutely zero proof of anything, but I would submit an opinion that with the recent organizational moves, AAS has learned and gained some valuable experience as a newish NFL owner.  She might just be emerging on the other side of this as a more experienced and learned owner that now sees what her role actually should be to form a winning “elite” organization.

Long, long, long, long way to go, but I’m impressed with the changes made and her apparent move back a little further away from direct football decisions.  We shall see.

sadly I'm old enough to remember that series...

The other sad part it seems it was just yesterday that it was on. Time plays weird tricks on you as you age.

@smokeater

IMO she and her advisors overreacted to the setup they had with Robinson in the name of collaboration.  Hence the wonky setups with Vrabel and Carthon and then what we had the past season.  They came full circle to the realization that you can still support the collaborative work environment while having a clear chain of command/accountability on the football side.  Hence the President of Football Operations runs the football side of the organization.

Vrabel also probably forced their hand into the "collaboration" model since he was pushing for more control for himself, right?

He was probably not wanting to accept being subservient to a GM, especially ones he saw as too green.

Still, AAS and Co. are responsible for all the missteps in management they've overseen.

Really, really hoping this next model works and we get a competitive team out of it.

I have to think that AAS likens the current situation to the early 80's Oilers.. she threw good money to try and prop up a declining team after several people including Vrabel, Carthon, and even Robinson convinced her to do so.. this is exactly like BUM going for it in 1980, bringing in Stabler and Dave Casper, coming up short, and then Bud firing BUM and starting the rebuild.. Bud had warned BUM that if he failed he would be fired before the buildup..

At this point, Nihil and Brinker have convinced her that rebuilding and going the draft/ development route is the way forward.. Ironically, the first 2 or 3 drafts of that era included Mathews, Munchak, Steinkuler, etc.. just like Skoronski and Latham..

As far as Free Agents are concerned, I suspect we are hoping the vast majority of ours sign with another team, helping us build draft capital.. I expect Radunz and Westbrook- Inkine to be resigned,

The Robinson firing always seemed a little more personal to me.  Just in terms of details and there’s a little mystery.  Also they didn’t wish him well or something like that in their statements?

Trading AJ Brown was the nail in the coffin for JRob

PK on his show just now is doubling down on his reports about Carthon’s work ethic and saying even more people have talked to him since happy that they canned him. He also said he doesn’t believe the report that Brinker doesn’t want Callahan. That makes two reports contradicting Stillman’s

dumb ass.

Is PK saying Carthon was fired for poor work ethic and not necessarily for the bad moves?

That would help explain why Brinker is safe despite being clearly heavily involved in the bad moves.
