How can the whole league have missed on Mahomes when he was drafted 10th overall?

Ward or whoever they pick has to be a star player / Pro Bowl level player to justify the first overall pick.  Solid starter at 1/1?  Just stop.

I really think the Texas Tech stigma hurt Mahomes on top of the perception that he was raw (which he was)

And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

Must be a fun ride if he completed 63% of his passes for 4 TD’s and 343 yards passing. 2 INT’s but Brady and Mahomes also throw those.

Here is every pass play from the game.

its a fairly common thing for him to have brett farve games like this. He will be scattershot to start the game then has to make the comback.

Im not quite sure how i feel about that yet. On one hand its awsome that he has the clutch gene. But on the other alot of the time its his fault he has to go crazy to come back and win those games.

He QB’d my college team and I want the experience to continue with my pro team. That’s high praise cause with guys like Brad Kaaya and Malik Rosier I was ready for the experience to be over

That’s at the crux of this.  If he’s average (especially a qb), do you take him , given that you may have to overpay in terms of a second contract and get stuck with it like Lawrence.  I’m leaning on trade down and pass for this year .  But can be convinced either way.

It’s a lot different if it’s a position player.

It's not acceptable getting an average player with the #1 pick

I think you temper expectations  even when you have the first pick. Generational players don't come put every year and especially Generational QBs.

With a QB you ask what you need and that's a definite starter who is at minimum someone you can win with, provides stability, and doesn't limit the team. If you end up with a superstar after  checking the boxes-- great. But know there are only maybe six QBs who are legitimate game changers.

While a franchise qb (or game changer) is the ultimate goal, there’s some level between that and average qb, that Id like for the qb I’d draft at #1 to hit as a floor.

QBs are going to have games like this. They all do, even the great ones. The difference is the great ones are not phased. They do exactly what Cam does here. They keep playing. They keep leading with a snap and clear mentality. They immediately move on to the next play that they know they need to make. They don't let a bad play linger. Levis is the anti-Cam. He had to rewire his brain........guess what.......Cam's brain is pre wired. This game is a plus in my eyes, not a minus.

Take a look at this list of possible QB's for the '26 draft.. Realizing Manning is probably NOT coming out, there are some legitimate possibilities on this list, but I'm just not sure which ones are a better prospect than Ward.. thoughts?? I've really liked Klubnick, Nussmeier, and Leavitt at various times this season.. and will be interesting to see if Nico improves.

The 2026 NFL QB class has the chance to be the BEST QB class of all-time. Many NFL teams are reportedly going to “pass on a QB” in this year’s draft to wait for next year. • Arch Manning (Texas) • Cade Klubnik (Clemson) • Drew Allar (Penn State) • Garrett Nussmeier (LSU) • Nico Iamaleava (Tennessee) • Sam Leavitt (Arizona State) • Carson Beck (Miami) • LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina) • Kaidon Salter (Colorado) • Miller Moss (Louisville) • John Mateer (Oklahoma) • Dante Moore (Oregon) • Avery Johnson (Kansas State) • Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) • Darian Mensah (Duke)

FWIW Albert Breer named the Titans/Patriots/Jags as teams looking to move down at the top of the draft, hilarious that he mentions the Jags when they don't even have a GM right now.

Not trolling but where the heck are the mentions of the Titans doing a deep dive on these qbs and wanting to draft one or being really interested in one.

Almost all the National guys who have a clue say trade down.

The Titans were very active during last CFB offseason and during the CFB season watching both Sanders and Ward.

Does anyone seriously think that Brinker/Borgonzi have told Albert Breer what their plans are before the combine and free agency even start?

Anyone?

As long as the team itself is in all options are on the table mode the media will speculate in all directions.

Didn't miss at 10th? WTF are you smoking??? How many 1st round picks in perpetuity would a team give up for him now?

A solid starter at the QB position is worth more than one 1st overall. He doesn't have to be a pro bowler. I think for the Titans, he does. Because of how deficient they are. Even if they bring in a bridge, that bridge will struggle and fans will lose their shit if they don't put him in.
