Cam Ward

I do not disagree.  I like Cam and I am not unhappy with his selection.  But I think the bigger discussion on the board is the organization and the lack of QB development.  This is why we need a complete overhaul. It began with Willis and the MV regime.  I think the OC and offense staff did the kid a huge disservice by playing him too early and they should have had another vet QB in to help him develop. I will never forget that OT KC game ever as a huge mismanagement mistake on National TV.  TN still almost won which shows you how good a coach MV was.   In his last TC here you could see signs of life for Willis.  Yet the stupid GM traded him for nothing and BC was OK with it.  Really poor decision.

When he played against us week 3 or 4 last year you could see he was not finished as a product but you saw what a competent offensive staff who has developed athletic QBs was capable of.  Willis looked like a differetn player with 6 weeks in GB.  That is diagnostic of how bad TN is and was.  I have no doubt that Willis will become a bigger story than Geno Smith and Sam Darnold down the road, because he has better skills than both of them.  He just needed way more time than MV had here in TN.  I put that blame on the GM because he could have brought in a vet QB for cheap back then but he was a DEI hire and incompetent = AAS.

Levis.  Year one he faced the same problems as Willis but he was further along in his baility to play than Willis was and in the ATL and MIA game he flashed his potential.  He also flashed mistake why a vet should have been in here.  Some of the long ball throws he made were exceptional.  He gave life to a dying HOF WR in Hopkins.  But in the MV to BC transition the offense went away from his skill set to the short passing game that required slow matriculations down the field and required supreme accuracy.  That is not Levis game., and never was but the organization tried to fit a square peg into their coaching hire.  Again Carthon made a huge mistake.   Levis  is a down field thrower of the football and a game day competitor.  He put himself at risk because of how he played.  He made rookie TO mistakes we all saw.  But anyone who denies he has talent and cannot play is brain dead.  BC was the wrong hire to develop him.  I think a Bruce Arians type, Holgrem type, or Payton were way better choices for his skill set.

BC got a second shot with a young QB who was more accurate than Willis, but less arm talent and less athletic and the offense looked even worse.  Firing him and Brinker after Levis was the best call AAS should have made and why she did not do it amazes me.  I now worry what BC did to Willis before he got canned may have set him back a year.  McCoy is more conservative then BC, so one would think Cam would fare better here and he is has looked far worse.  He has had one quarter when they went at a faster tempo that allowed more chaos and Cam looked better.  What does McCoy do.........

He goes back to the slow tempo and running on first down.  He continues the WR screen bullshit and gadget plays.  The same process that hurt Levis under the post MV regime is happening right now with BC/McCoy.  I'd rather see the back up play with this staff than Cam.  They are horredously bad.

They need to let Cam go at a faster tempo and let all the young guys go.  They are not going anywhere so they need to see what system this kid is best in and I think it is a wide up chaos system that allows him to use his improv skills to matriculate the field.  This is highly unconventional and that is why BC/McCoy have struggled developing him.

I am not down on either young QB.  I am down with this organization and how they think and act.  They have killed more young players because they are incompetent managers and a fully dysfunctional organization.

I'm totally fine with the Titans drafting Ward. Enough people think he can be good and he's shown enough NFL traits. It would not be like the Titans overdrafting Anthony Richardson or Trey Lance.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft, was financially victimized by two alleged scammers from Jefferson Parish, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday (Oct. 29).

Albert Weber, 42, and Cyntrelle Lash, 39, were arrested in May on allegations of identity theft, bank fraud and forgery in connection to Ward, a former University of Miami star. They are accused of fraudulently obtaining more than $250,000 in loans in a scheme that allegedly victimized Ward, the player’s father and the business that provided the loans.

JFC he's a retard.

Mac Jones had been sensational in SF? News to me

And SF.

He has done pretty well holding together a team that has been decimated by injuries and is probably the favourite to be the next reclamation project QB that some of these QB needy teams try to pry out of the 49ers.

I think Jones has been serviceable in SF, not sensational. He isn't showing out like Darnold did last season exactly. TBH I think most people were kind of expecting his best ball to come in SF even before he signed there, it's not a big surprise he fits in there.

Man the 49ers really got him cheaply too. He's literally being paid less than $5M over this season and next season (total). Absolute robbery. Meanwhile Washington paid Mariota $8M this season, lol.
