Schefter mentioned Hopkins as a potential option for the Chiefs

Schefter just now on Get Up was running through potential WR moves for the Chiefs after losing Rice and Brown and the very first name he brought up was DeAndre Hopkins.

 

Schefter also mentioned how the Chiefs have previously had interest in Hopkins.

Personally I think Amari Cooper should be the more obvious target for the Chiefs.

5 weeks out from the trade deadline its more likely to be dot connecting but it was pretty widely reported when Hopkins was a free agent last year the Chiefs were one of the teams interested if he had lowered his asking price.

It makes a lot of sense that they’d be targeting receivers who won’t cost a ton of draft capital and wouldn’t require huge contracts like Aiyuk. So pretty much Cooper and Hopkins are the only ones I could see fitting that criteria while still being pretty good. I think the chiefs might be a bit more desperate this time around with the chance of a threepeat. 
 

I thought before the season they might end up with George Pickens, but that seems doubtful with how well the Steelers have done so far. Davante adams would be too expensive.

Coopers hands have been pretty unbelievably bad this year, maybe they get a discount

I’d really like to see a QB change before we start selling the farm though.

 

Hopkins will be just another hole we will have to fill later if we actually want to compete

Compete? For what?

 

They're going to be replacing Hopkins this offseason - most likely with Tee Higgins.

I selfishly would rather them go after Amari Cooper. Mostly fantasy reasons. But unless they see something in one of the younger guys, I would rather keep Hopkins.
