Even talked about how some have coached for so long it would be odd to do so. The complete opposite of Vrabel.

I try not to dwell on the past but , the difference between Callahan and Vrabel's interviews is night and day. I realize Brian C has a lot to prove but there isn't a condescending sarcastic bone in Callhan's body. He wants to hear what his players and coaches think and then form his opinion from there. Polar opposite of Vrabel and Belichick.  I find it really amusing that neither of them got a HC gig. The Titans haven't had a coach like this since they've been in Tennessee. Fish was the closest. Hopefully BC's smarts will tranlate into wins.

This was a very good interview. Callahan is a great interviewer. It’s refreshing to have a coach like him after years of Vrabel grimacing after every question and then giving a non answer. 
 

He said a lot of things that are encouraging. Mainly that they aren’t going to be scared to change things up if they aren’t working. The last regime just tried to force their will the entire game even if it was constantly getting shut down. Callahan will have multiple game plans and not be scared to pivot mid game. 
 

I also really liked the discussion about how he builds the team culture that lets players know that he wants them to give their opinions or suggestions. It seems very important to him to build those relationships that make players feel comfortable telling him what they like and don’t like so that he can build an offense that maximizes every players strengths, instead of making every player conform to your offensive style.

Vrabel had 3 things that made him a good coach: 1) he could motivate his players to play near the ceiling of their abilities, and players seemed to play hard in most games, 2) he could define how he felt the team should play each game to give them a chance to win, usually run the king, play action passing, run defense..3) he used the rules and situational football better than any coach we’ve  ever had.. I ll always remember how he controlled the clock against Belichek, taking penalties to keep the clock rolling.. 

Im anxious to see how Callahan does in those 3 variables, and clearly a different style, for #1 and # 2..

Seems like the rules knowledge was great until Streicher left.  Then it was just shitty clock management
