It’s also worth noting that Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts and had zero fumbles….something hasn’t happened in almost 40 years.   The last guy to do this was Gerald Riggs way back in 1985.

Look at all those defenders chasing down a rolling tomato can!

Derrick Henry sure seems to get a lot of those "anybody could do it, perfectly blocked plays" ever since he was declared a bum by message board illuminati.    Luckiest back in history, I gue

Alexander is an outlier, he didn’t even reach 10k yards and only had 5 good seasons of play. He was also unlucky in that 4/5 backs of the same era got in

Good point.  Each year, there're posts about 'this guy's better' 'I think he's done'.  But here he is, Eighth Yr, Top 5 in the league @#2 running behind the worse line the Titans have fielded.  Last year, 2nd worse OL he put up 2000apy.

Things like that won't go unnoticed.  The HOF voters will be directed to his performances 2022 and 2023 if he maintains the same pace.  Henry is what every coach/team/fan dreams of.

Dedicated.  Humble.  The HOF voters love him.  They will be looking for ways to help Henry get in.

@DecepticonShawn2 I deleted three paragraphs.

Wasn't sure where to put this but with the Henry HOF eligibility discussion thought this might be the right place.

I would think that would significantly help Henry's chances.....but you guys do know people like King get paid for their radio appearances.  He easily could be pandering to the audience.  Not a chance in hell that Eddie makes the HOF this year or any time soon.

a good pass catcher/pass protector

💡You are saying he's a poor pass protector.  This in turn makes his pass catching ability less available for use.  Henry's achilles.

When God gave da king his mighty powers, he placed an achilles.  If not, da king would be the greatest player of all time.

My main man Oman figured this shit out.

Runner ++++

Receiver +++

Passer ++++

Pass Blocker x

Vrabel largely takes Henry off the field on 3rd down.  There are two possibilities:

1.  Vrabel is correct and Henry has a poor skill set for the role.

2.  Vrabel is wrong and making a mistake.

Which is it?

Vrabel is making a mistake. A big mistake. Not using Spears more on early downs is also a big mistake.

There is no better instance of making a mountain out of a molehill than noting Henry not catching a pass.

I was making the argument for Henry in the passing game back when Deon Lewis (?) was brought in to be the third-down back. Their stats were comparable then, but the reputation was hung on Henry. The passing game puts Henry in the open field with the ball and a chance to gather a head of steam.

3. Vrabel does something pretty normal, in general, by having a ,3rd down back and finds a (very necessary) way to limit his touches, given how many he gets without a 3rd down role.

The idea of a 3rd down back in this era is the exception, not the norm.  Taking the supposed "HOF" player off the field on the money down is telling.  Vrabel explained why in detail last season when the media tards were crying about it.  His skill set is relatively useless in obvious passing situations.

His touches lead the league or come close every year. Explain it however you want. Giving him extra use and touches on 3rd down, given how they use him on downs 1&2, would be malpractice. 2021 with 3rd down duties would have been hilarious.

Or they could simply even out the touches over all 3 downs if he wasn't a liability in known passing situations......

Even doing what they did, he physically broke down under the workload.
