If you don't know thats a staple of offenses for decades then you aren't paying attention. but I googled it! Fair enough. It still seems to be an attempt to sound smart and also to be used as a way to excuse Tannehill’s performance by blaming it on Vrabel. I've followed the NFL since I was like 10 years old and I've never heard the term. Not only that I googled it and nothing came up. It seems to be unique here, only used by the anti-Vrabel, pro-Tannehill crowd (which is ridiculous that we even have to group people, but that's a whole other topic). It's an attempt to sound smart. So stupidity is your excuse? Passing on conflicted downs is far more effective than in obvious passing situations.....for a variety of reasons that you clearly aren't smart enough to grasp. If you think the Titans running it a ton on 1st down with one of the lowest success rates while not passing it despite having one of higher success rates is smart, well here we are.....They literally consistently expose the offense to obvious passing situations when they know they have among the worst pass blocking units in the NFL. They literally lost playoff games doing it and are 10-15 the last 2 years doing it on most occassions. rns90, TF_Titan, oldschool, and 1 other

I really hate it. But the show must go on It's probably the best you can hope for besides the team waiting until the end of a season - i.e. mid game is a bit more of a blight. I think he flashed enough while Tannehill regressed enough for them to realize going with the rookie isn't a net loss. That’s it. He flashed more than Tannehill and the gap was smaller than they thought. I don’t think the defense is any good for them to make a playoff push but that is another topic. Popular Post Mythos27
I was going to post this but ultimately didn't feel it was worthy of it's own thread; Levis has a chance to be the first agenda-free QB of the modern TR era. I am considering the drafting of Mariota as the beginning of that era and the football death of Tannehill as the end of that era. Levis is a guy that no one here was really all in on pre-draft and if anything some people hated him. Most however were somewhere between ambivalent and uninformed. The anti-Tannehill (oversimplification) posters are pumped about Levis mostly because of Levis but partly because he allows them to dunk on the other side. The pro-Tannehill posters aren't excited to see Tannehill go but have been impressed by Levis enough to be glad to see him take over. In short, unlike the Mariota and Tannehill era, this time there is no built in half of the board that's going to be unfairly negative towards Levis. Despite their previous agendas, everyone is rooting for him to succeed and more importantly recognizes that Levis being the guy solves our biggest problems and is the fast-track to NFL success. Levis is essentially the common ground where before there was a fissure. We'll all likely find other inane shit to call each other retards over because that's what we do but there is a chance, that for the first time in almost a decade, the QB will not be at the center of the shit talk. Any disagreement on Levis will be because of his play, not in service of a grand agenda. rns90, IsntLifeFunny, IowaOiler, and 6 others 6

Forget the concept for a sec, the math and actual numbers (titans suck at running on 1st and are /were one of the most successful at passing on 1st) say that the Titans should run less and pass more. This is one of the dumber things I’ve seen argued on here. IowaOiler, and BudsOilers 1

Fucking retard. Sure. Did anyone on the planet expect Dillard to be worse than Daley or for Vrabel to turn around and replace him with NPF who's even worse? The LT spot is single handedly killing the pass pro aside from the snaps NPF took at RT...... titanskick8851
