Yes yes none of it was her fault.

It’s her fault for being boring like Al Gore and John Kerry instead of exciting like Bill and Obama.

Beyond that, no I don’t think it was generally her fault. You said she should have gone to Michigan and Wisconsin late in the game, but she had a huge event in Philly and it didn’t help. People don’t vote just because you come to town and give a speech.

A federal appeals court on Thursday denied ex-Trump adviser Peter Navarro’s bid to stay out of prison while appealing his conviction for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit largely affirmed the trial judge’s ruling last month that Navarro’s appeal does not raise a “substantial question of law” and therefore doesn’t warrant his release. The federal appeals court also found that for Navarro’s arguments on executive privilege to raise substantial questions, it would have required former President Trump to have invoked said privilege — which the court said “did not happen here.”

SCOTUS told him to go kick rocks in the prison yard, too. So he’s going to prison tomorrow…

People are simply having a hard time grasping the fact that Trump is doomed in the 2024 election because he won 8 years ago.

BTW, Great campaign strategy going into the election. Trump is talking about a nation wide abortion ban and reducing/eliminating social security and Medicare. Those two things would eliminate any presidential candidate.

But because no one believes a word he says it doesn't really register.

I agree for the most part but cannot underestimate the idiocy. He's over here talking about bloodbaths and saluting insurrectionists. No one knows how it plays out when he loses. That's the most troubling part.

It leaves even someone like you who fully believes the election is essentially forfeit to Biden as not knowing what it entails afterward. That's the trepidation for some and for others we have to worry about the stupidity.

Take in the fact Biden is 81 and could die any day and it's a narrow line back to anything resembling normalcy.

Counting Trump out is the dumbest thing you could do.

He's a cockroach cult leader who employees mob tactics and courts all interference, legal or otherwise. Politically speaking, he's only ever out after the election is over. Until then he's a pre-eminent threat capable of anything and there's a huge portion of the American public that will absolutely vote for him no matter what.

Absolutely.  And I sure as heck hope people wake up and do their part in November because if they don't we could be in a lot of trouble.  I for one am nervous about it.

We should not make the mistake of discounting Trump by any means. He must not be counted out.

But we should proceed through the election season with confidence and resolve that we will defeat him while mustering everything in our arsenal to get it done. Getting the work done is the key to manifesting the outcome.

Hard right now to count him out, because every redneck out there I've seen is a Trumper.  Took my classic '70 Camaro Z/28 out for a spin the other day and went by a shop to get something.  Dudes in there had a tune on coming out the speakers.

I don't know who or what the song was, but I heard... 'blah blah blah blah blah, fuck Joe Biden' in the lyrics. lol  Redneck Trump cult for sure.  And we all know how many rednecks there still are in the USA.  Fuckin' plenty!

It doubles the mind space to be worried about it and then have no idea how it unfolds if he wins or even if he loses.

Trump has lost a portion of Republicans and independents since the last election, that he lost BTW.

He's only hurting himself more and more as the election get closer.

I'll say again, he ain't winning

What if its < a few months til election, and Biden has a McConnell freeze moment... or flat out dies?

Granted two very different scenarios that could actually push things in opposite directions, and not hatin' on Joe here, but these things are very much in play for an American male in her 80s.  Ave life span dropped from 76 to 73 during Covid, and highest rates in highest states (Hawaii #1) is about 81.

Sure he could rock out 20 more years, but if a legit health issue/death happened, we're looking at the ultimate October surprise. (Could be Trump as well FWIW)

Also, if that did happen, what happens?  With the party's nominee already in place (and then deceased), each party would pick the replacement based on their set rules to the best of my knowledge.  Though not sure what those rules look like right now.

Obviously some shocking unlikely event could change things.

Seems way more likely Trump might stroke out though

There is already speculation that Trump's well documented speech problems have been caused by a mini stroke.  Other professionals think his problems are caused by the onset of dementia which his father died from.

But it seems clear that he has some form of aphasia.
