I know you don't post here much but.....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Trump is trash, and this iteration of Republicans are short short-sighted assholes who don't have the best interests of the country at heart but rather are railing against the current power dynamics shifting from male white dominance to minorities and women.

My only point has always been that the Democrats are also pushing race politics, have weak policies, and rarely act out of a motivation to serve the good of the country rather than what's good for themselves or the particular interest group they represent. They are small-minded, and the extremists have pushed such stupendously stupid ideas that it gives legitimacy to the actual racists and those who capitalize on the stupidity of identity and group politics.

Many on here would gladly follow the ridiculous fringe issues that have no bearing on the lives of 99% of Americans, while completely ignoring the things that would actually impact real change because the media have brainwashed them or they have too much party loyalty.

None of my posts have ever been a defense of Trump or Trump allies, so I don't know why anyone would try to post a whatabout post on Trump to me. I was one of the loudest voices during the Mueller investigation, during the Jan 6th insurrection, and during the recent political campaign speaking out AGAINST Trump. In 2016 I registered as a Republican so I could vote against Trump in the primaries and then still voted for Hillary in the Presidential Election. Just because I don't tolerate the sniveling crybaby bullshit of the Democratic party in no way makes me an ally of the current gen Republicans. In fact, I find them VILE.

I really don't know how to make it any more clear than that.

I searched "defund the police" and this post popped up. I wasn't looking for you specifically. You posted a concern about dems cutting funding for the police.

Trump did it

Democratic Mayors across the country defunded police programs and cut the legs out from underneath their departments.

Pretending like Dems only talked about it while hailing that "Trump did it" is nothing but a dishonest partisan argument imo. I have no interest.

I didn't pretend Dems did or didn't do anything. There were local level people promoting to defund the police. But Biden and Harris were not calling for that, it was the opposite, as you yourself said in the older post. BUT Trump did it.

It's another example of a totally false narrative. Trump pardons people who attacked the police and then reduced funding to the police. Yet Dems want to defund the police.

Another one is that Dems are "sniveling cry babies". Some are for sure but who's the biggest sniveling cry baby in all of politics?

Your post said “I thought it was the left who wanted to defund police. Some wanted to. Trump actually did it. Then you reiterated that Trump did.

Again you try and excuse the ridiculous posturing by politicians on the left by pointing out Trump’s flaws. Trump isn’t an excuse for Dems and his weaknesses don’t erase the weaknesses of Democrats. That’s once again nothing but a dishonest partisan argument which I have told you that I have no interest in.

Dems shifting funding from police to other resources that are better equipped to handle issues (mental health, homelessness, drug treatment, etc) that police were otherwise doing isn’t “cutting the legs out from underneath” them.

The whole “defund the police” movement isn’t about eliminating the police. It’s about them being the wrong universal answer for all of societies’ problems. The slogan is a terrible explanation of what liberals are looking to accomplish. Cops are simply not trained to deal with the things they have been tasked to handle.

Yes on an this, especially the terrible explanation part. Dems are especially good at that.

Dems really just aren’t generally good at messaging.

Republicans have been much better at it. Of course, having your own propaganda platform disguised as a news network also helps…

No. Many Mayors straight cut funding while also spending millions of taxpayer money on their personal security details. Yes, many also redirected funding into their pet projects and it worked wonders! Except it didn't.

Look. I'm not interested in the argument. I said my piece, you guys have said yours. You can have whatever last word you want but at the end of the day I'm not here to convince you and I don't care to be convinced any more than you do. You guys feel free to bicker about this stuff without me.

That's not what I was doing. You(others too) posted a lot about how crazy it was for Dems to be threatening to defund the police. I was pointing out how after all that Trump reduced funding to the police, by billions! It's barely even reported on BTW.

People were worried about the wrong party defunding the police

Fair enough. Maybe I was being overly defensive. If that's the case, my bad.

You can add Obamacare and "Death panels" to the same pattern.  Lots of scare mongering about Democrats, then slash popular government services in the Republican budget with hardly a word.

Look at who owns the media, including the NY Times and Washington Post, for the explanation.
