She should have been briefed, but no, fuck the owner having any input into personnel decisions. She’s likely the reason Mariota was still QB in 2019

This is silly fan talk. AAS owns a billion dollar business, the football ops team reports to her. Does this mean she meddles in day to day affairs? No. But you better believe you don't make organization defining moves like trading the best WR the TItans have ever had without a simple presentation on why you think this is the best move for the business.

Vrabel gaining more personnel control is not a good thing - regardless of who the new GM is - I promise you that.

Vrabel's comment "who is he going to throw it to?" about the receivers/Malik is a little more cryptic now.    I loved Jrob, but I love AAS more. She ain't fucking around. Ya love to see it.

Like I said, she should be briefed (and probably was, Schefter never said she wasn’t), but if she has any actual input into major roster decisions then the Titans are screwed. She has absolutely no qualifications to make major football decisions

His drafting in the 1st wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.  3 guys are good starting players (1 All Pro), 3 are busts, 1 is a Top 3-5 DT, and 1 is TBT but certainly looks like he'll be a good or maybe even great player.  For a team which was constantly winning and drafting at the end of each round, that's a reasonably good hit rate, especially considering that he found All Pro and starting talent outside of the 1st

Where he sucked was keeping quality players he drafted/signed and signing players in FA.  It led to an accumulation of lost talent, wasted picks, and wasted money.   He seemed to want to go after the shiny toys instead of sticking what was working for him, which was building through the draft and finding cheaper quality players on the market .  He overestimated his own savvy and resourcefulness

Yes it was.  Removing tweet since the data is inaccurate.

Point remains thought that jrob missed on nearly every one of his 8 1st rounders except for Simmons. His average needed to be close to .500.

and you certainly dont just trade him at a whim  - which would be the only excuse for not being able to inform her that it may be going down.

Its about trust and respect. I make decisions during the course of my day that are within my purview, some of them are extremely important. Others I know I need to kick upstairs. Some of those decisions I know what I want to do but need to garner support for it. Sometimes my boss disagrees with me and overrides me or tells me its my decision which is code for "this better not go sideways". There are lots of ways you can be a decision maker and still inform your boss without being micromanaged. The insinuation any owner shouldn't be involved in discussions on Franchise QBs and or star player contracts is just not based on reality.

Huh?  Derrick Henry didn't get a second contact? Kevin Byard?

haha guess dude can't count. Good catch. Its still not great though. I don't get how you and others claim 1st rounders aren't wasted when the guys are gone after 4 years.

Wow, that's a bad batting average. When we went to the SuperBowl, 17 out of the 22 starting players were drafted by the Titans.

I actually kind of think there's something to this whole dynamic, and I also do wonder about the outside possibility of Daley being forced to start at LT by JRob

Not saying it's probable - but an angle to think about as things play out.

I'd think it odd for Robinson to force Daley if he drafted Radunz but who knows what's going on behind closed doors

It'll be interesting if it turns out that Vrabel is just a realist and he knew that the way the team was built could only go through the run game but that he wants the team built a different way and will gradually transition to a more modern offense.

I just look at the offense they ran 19' and 20'.  I didn't ever hear Vrabel saying slow down.

Schefter doesn't directly say she wasn't included in the AJ Brown decision. He says she "wasn't included in a lot of conversations"
