I think she fired him because Vrabel and him bumped heads and he threatened to go to Ohio State. She chose Vrabel over Jrob. I agree with @OILERMAN and some of the others. It makes no sense in any other context where you give a five year extension because you're pleased with the direction of the team and then 10 months later fire him because you don't like how the roster is being built. I don't agree. quite a bit happened since that extension was signed in feb. - The Brown Trade where it appears jrob didn't keep AAS informed and in my opinion, didn't do enough to try to keep Brown - The OL fell apart, Radunz looks like a bust in this system. Needs to be completely rebuilt - Farley injured again and looks like a bust - Woods trade not panning out - lack of depth at CB and ILB Jamalisms, AvgJoe, Justafan, and 1 other

Vrabel's power move is the most plausible and makes the most sense here. Occam's Razor and all that. japan

Occam's razor would lead toward the roster simply not being good enough to win a Title and the team being further away than they were in 2019. Nash
I was thinking again about a the "crossroads" speech.. that was a warning that every player is being carefully evaluated for next year.. I wonder if he knew on Monday that he would have greater input on the roster??

Based on what is known, AAS”s press release focused on the personnel and roster construction areas. Given how they talk constantly, perhaps his plans for 2023 were not aligned with ownership and Vrabel hence pulling the plug now. Perhaps he wanted to blow it up, start Willis next year, and go full retard. regardless her faith in him clearly eroded. The timing of it is probably due to the CFB season finishing up and the real scouting season just beginning If they had no faith in him and were going to cut ties after the year anyway then it makes sense DCTitan, BudsOilers, and Number9

BudsOilers
I also think the planning for 2023, which already is starting, factors in. Hence the timing. Trying to paint Amy as some impulsive overreacting owner doesn’t jive. If anyone in this has a destructive impulsive tendency it was Quiver Chins. Popular Post Downtown
I think you can largely look at this 2022 draft class as a success to build on. Injuries aside, it’s easy to see Burks will be a very good player. The real killer for two consecutive years in a row has been a historic number of injuries. Why is that? Downtown
The more I think about it, the only real path for the 2024 Titans and beyond is to totally blow it up and use 2023 to take your lumps, shed your contracts, and position for your new QB. I can’t help but wonder if that (among many things) was the Vrabel/JRob battle and who was on what side. We’ll find out….

I can’t help but wonder if that (among many things) was the Vrabel/JRob battle and who was on what side. We’ll find out…. There is certainly an attraction to dumping RT because of the cap savings. However, trying to find a new QB is extremely, extremely risky. The failure rate is high and the effects last for multiple years. Failure could set the team back going into the opening of a new stadim with PSL sales, naming rights, etc on the line. The prudent thing to do is to hold off on new contract negotiations until at least mid-season 2023. Evaluate RT with a hopefully improved supporting cast and evaluate the 2024 QB class. Get Simmons done, rebuild the OL, the WRs and the cap then see where the team is. DCTitan, oldschool, and IsntLifeFunny

Of course.... she was fine enough with all of the stuff that people continually bring up regarding Julio, Conklin, Beasley, etc... to extend him for 5 years. Mike Keith touched on this during his radio appearance just now and it sounds like AAS is absolutely not interested in going down this route at this point in time. What I did find interesting is Mike Keith hinted at there being people who thought now would be the right time to blow things up.
