Like Wan'dale is the ultimate slot/possession guy, Ridley eats in the middle, and Tate can do everything, especially downfield. Cam's about to have a Caleb Williams type rebound sophomore season. Even at his peak Green never had a YAC above around 4.5 or so. We have Ridley, Dike, and Robinson to handle all the underneath, short-to-intermediate stuff. The man might not be the twitchiest or the craziest YAC guy, but hell he did the work to come down with the ball 20 yards out so he didn't have to break 3 tackles. Jeremiah Smith is being talked about in the same breath as Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, and Ja'Marr Chase. It's pointless to knock Tate because he was never the defacto #1 there when Marvin Harrison, Emeka Egbuka, and Jeremiah Smith were all there at the same time. It just means Ohio State is stacking the hell out of stud receivers right now. Before it's all said and done Tate could wind up being no worse than the 2nd best out of that group of OSU receivers. I will always wonder who they would have taken between Love and Tate, but if Tate becomes a legitimate and consistent top 10 WR it won't matter what Love does. It's a really nuanced way of breaking down what speed really is and why the 40 yard dash time is probably the worst way to judge how a guy is going to fare as a football player. My only reservation about taking a wr so high basically takes the position out of the running g next year when there's a possible "generational" wr class available at the same time a great QB class is sitting there. Would've been prime for a team like a Titans to hone in on one of them...but if they feel like Tate can be that guy then ill be damned if my stoned and drunk ass is going to second guess it. I'll paraphrase: How does it feel to be constantly cucked as a #2? How will the Titans feel knowing they didn't get Love and settled for you? Why can't you get YAC? Outside of being incredibly smooth, his body control and ability to keep maximum momentum on his cuts and stutter steps causes cb's and lb's to pause and sometimes completely stop their own momentum. It accounts for his ability to create separation and also accounts for his lack of substantial YAC due to being a step slower in linear speed.
