You’re right. Vrabel doesn’t need to lie anymore, he still has a career ahead of him, so his tacit acknowledgement of the affair and its consequences was likely good enough. For Rusinni’s to have any chance of a future in big-league journalism, she must maintain the lie as nothing more than allegations.

 

Vrabel’s Giambi mea culpa certainly means Rusinni’s professional ceiling is as an “outsider”, a podcaster/Youtuber likely having to lean into innuendo and the salacious part of sports. Plenty of money to be made, but not quite the same gravitas (national inquirer)

Particularly when the evidence all goes against the contarian view.  It's one thing to take a contrarian view on something like the draft tomorrow and say that you think the Titans should draft Jordyn Tyson.  Maybe no one else thinks that but it's an opinion that has no evidence to go against it.  On this one the evidence was there for everyone to see on that Tuesday night and he continue to parrot his nonsense after it was obvious what had happened.  For the sole purpose of trying to argue on a message board.
