According to the linked article, the decision to purchase insurance on a player's contract rests with ownership, is voluntary and can cost up to 1M per contract.  It's a cash outlay that doesn't give an immediate credit to the salary cap unless an injury happens and the insurance kicks in.  So this was an AAS decision,  but according to some posters she's broke and according to another poster she's a terrible owner.

 

So after all she has spent in free agency and looking at her insurance decision, can we put this narrative to rest.

Yep.. I said last year, one thing I dont deny about her is that she really does want to win. I do like her as a team owner. She spends, she listens, and she's not afraid to admit mistakes instead of doubling down

100% agree. A bad owner would have allowed Carthon to bury the team even deeper. Instead she realized the mistake and pulled the trigger before most owners would. She made a mistake, but the key part is she admitted it by moving on to a much more qualified person in Borgonzi.

glad we have some extra cap room.. we need 1 more receiver that's tall and fast..surely there will be someone released after the draft that can share x  receiver with Ayo.. I'd hold on to the money for now until someone breaks loose..
