Titans Offseason Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

It is crazy to think that we went into last season with a historically bad outlook at WR for Cam, which got worse.

Not just heavily relying on rookies, but rookies taken in the 4th round. Veterans like (checks notes) Van Jefferson.

If we overpay for a mid-receiver I absolutely have no problem with that.

No idea where this nugget fits so thought it might worth starting a thread for all Titans non HC offseason discussion.   This was meant to happen last offseason but Sweat never showed up so

Who will we draft? The answer has been there the whole time.

I've had eye on Alec Pierce for a while now. He's a difference-maker and one of those rare guys that will grow with an expanded role. Indy primarily used him as a deep threat and didn't look to him for much either despite his good route running and phenomenal hands. The Colts have a amassed an impressive stable of receivers and somehow managed to under-utilize them all. Sign Pierce.

As far as Wan'dale Robinson I'm not enamored but he's better than people think. He single-handedly made Levis a second round pick and first round prospect when they were at Kentucky. Signing him wouldn't be a home run but a double isn't bad.

Wandale improves every year which is a big deal for me personally. He's a playmaker for a team that has none and he provides Ward a WR who understands how to find open space, and he runs a pretty wide array of routes. Hes essentially everything he likes about Restrepo except he's faster and can get yards after the catch.

We need a true starting slot of which he is and one of the best in the NFL. Between $15-20m i think hes an excellent signing

Nobody wants a big ass WR who mosses everyone and averages 50 yards per catch.  Give me that tiny 5'8 slot WR with 5 inch arms

He's also a guaranteed fit in Daboll's offense and will help them get the offense going earlier.

Hard to get excited about a 5'8" slot guy but you could definitely do worse.

He also REALLY stepped up to fill some of the void that the Malik Nabers injury left behind last season. A lot of guys shrink when their role gets bigger.

No one loves guys that fall below athletic thresholds more than the Titans the last 5 years. In all seriousness though, I like both of these guys I just think Pierce is much more impactful and I'd be willing to pay him more.

For sure. I have a massive bias towards 6'1+ receivers so liking a guy like Wan'dale does not give easy. The guy can play though. What I worry about with him is that Cam does not use the quick game too much so a lot of what makes Robinson special could be wasted. Conversely, I see him chucking up at least 2 bombs a game to Alec Pierce that Pierce catches.
