Athleticism is important. Production is important. Health is important. Traits are important. All of that stuff paints a picture, and while one thing hardly ever tells you the full story, especially with WRs, ignoring important pieces of the puzzle ain't exactly a great strategy. 1. Athleticism is important. Where in his profile has he shown he isn't a good enough athlete? Notable 40 times: JSN 4.52 Ceedee Lamb: 4,5 Puka Nacua: 4.57 Tee Higgins: 4.54 Courtland Sutton: 4.54 DeAndre Hopkins 4.57 2, Production is important. You already know that is a terrible way to evaluate college players lol Come on now. But I'll list some good receivers in the league last year than Carnell Tate had more yards than in a season in college: George Pickens Puka Nacua Nico Collins Stefon Diggs Chris Olave barely had more and played in more games DK Metcalf And that was just me pulling random guys from the 2025 receiving leader list. I didnt go to previous years or spend more than 5 minutes looking 3, Health is important. He missed like 3 games? Correct me if im wrong 4. Traits are important. He was a 5 star recruit. He has 94th percentile hands. He has elite ball skills. He is a very good route runner. He is a good run blocker. He is a glider as a mover. Do those traits not count for you? It's fine to not think he's not worth the 4th overall pick. It's fair to think he can't be a true X. But you keep going further and further with your arguments to "win" to the point of hyperbole. That's what I'm pushing back against. Edit: Well i went back and found your older post before you replied lol Edited April 7 by TeamRamrod titanskick8851
oldschool
I like Tate a lot but #4 feels too steep for his lack of production at OSU when defenses were focused on Smith every game. it appears many are just penciling him in as the next great OSU WR in the NFL based on recent history. The real question is if you like Tate at #10 should you like him at #4? Thats a hard question to answer. japan, and Justafan

I don't buy them at all and I think Bain is going to be an absolute monster for someone. But that doesn't mean Saleh doesn't have preferences/requirements for his scheme. That's a real issue and it's more important than any of the talking head bulletin point analysis. If you need a guy with more speed and length coming off the 9 gap then Bain just isn't going to be the guy you go for. But that's the only reason the Titans wouldn't draft him. It's not because they think he's too short to have a hell of a career. That's just fodder for the Mel Kipers of the world. AvgJoe

I'm not saying the Titans like Bain as the number 3 pass rusher at #4. I'm saying if they do, the fact they don't have their speed EDGE won't prevent them from drafting him. I do not expect the Titans to draft Bain at #4 in a few weeks. AussieTitanFan08

That's what I'm pushing back against. I don’t think he’s a bad prospect but the hyperbole has been going both ways. I think he’s worth a mid first for his positional value alone. To answer your question though, scouts questioned his speed coming out. Then he ran slower than expected and didn’t test any of the agility drills. Draw your own conclusions. Yes you can find WRs who are successful in the NFL who didn’t produce in college. You can also draft Tom Brady in the sixth round. Of course it matters and to pretend otherwise is simply sticking your head in the sand. Yes, he missed 3 games in the first season where he had volume comparable to what he would be expected to routinely manage in the NFL. Ignore that if you want but I won’t. 94th percentile - a messy stat that requires a ton of context. But yes, he has good hands. Probably the strongest argument for him. I love reading your pontifications on the draft, brings me back to last off season and the first few weeks of the season on Callahan. OILERMAN
The one thing about drafting Tate is it could push ReSlowMo completely off the practice squad! Justafan, japan, and titanskick8851

The real question is if you like Tate at #10 should you like him at #4? Thats a hard question to answer. @Callidus has pointed this out already, but Tate did miss 5 games in 2025. If you took his average over the 9 games he played and extended that over all the games he could've played in he would have had over 1,200 yards on the season, even with Smith across from him. There is a bit of the OSU proximity factor at play, of course, but that's just a byproduct of the success. Blind penciling in by some doesn't negate Tate's top tier efficiency. And it's not like Tate's not having his game scrutinized. Plenty of people on here and elsewhere are criticizing him, even ridiculously so. Hell, that dingleberry muffin fart Graver was saying he'd probably start off as the 4th or 5th receiver in training camp in that video yesterday! AussieTitanFan08
Albert Breer is also on team Jeremiyah Love at pick #4 for the Titans. If this does end up happening watching Mina Kimes stroking out and having a Mel Kiper Jr Sanders type meltdown should be fun. titanskick8851, Bulluck4dmvp, and GLinks 2

Lol It was 3, but ya, 65 catches for 1150 yards and 11.5 tds is a pretty good stat line if he held up the same production.
