It's really not that serious. It's just an educational/productivity tool. As long as you treat it that way and don't let it do your thinking for you then you should be ok.

 

Trust me, I'm not some huge AI defender. Especially in the creative arts... I fucking hate the foothold it is taking in the music industry, for example. I get the argument against AI in that context. But fighting against technological advancement is as useful as yelling at the clouds. There's an argument to be made, for example, for physical copies of books. But the convenience of Kindle/Audible can't be denied and for general consumption of literature how can you beat it?

Of course it's built on us but it's also influencing our language and typing patterns. 

 

Its circular and like 99.9999% of the issue with the enshittification of google/the internet/ ai... it just copies us. Then we use it to come up with "new" ideas.. then it copies those "new" ideas... and everything is recursive all the way down.
