May the football gods continue ravaging the 9ers with injury and losses to the point that they stupidly fire Shanahan and we can scoop him up 🙏

Career day also incoming for Marvin Harrison Jr.

We out here catching strays from Jon Robinson now...

Picking Sweat over accepting the Rams trade is already one of the goofiest moves this franchise has made.

yup. said at the time it would only be a good move to take Sweat if he became a dominant run defender and impacted the passing game. As more time goes on, the non trade looks worse and worse.

Unrelated but they’d better hope that Latham becomes a solid RT otherwise that’s pretty much another blown draft

I'm gonna lose my shit if Latham flops at RT. I still won't regret the move but it'll feel like we're cursed or something because he was a pretty good RT prospect.

We have been cursed at that spot for years it seems.  They would have been better just overpaying some solid RT that hit FA, given how much resources was wasted trying to replace Conklin.

It was obvious pre draft that he was undisciplined and didn't love football.  He should have been off the board or a late pick swing at best.

Maybe so, but we have no idea what goes on the locker room. Sometimes guys are total cancers that you HAVE to dump. Like the Vic Beasley stories from Lewan and Will Compton. Of course, he totally sucked on top of being a cancer.

Not so fast. I think Dart and Abdul Carter lead the Giants to a Super Bowl, and Cam continues to regress, melts down, holds out and and forces our hand to trade him after this fucked up season.

No one will remember the Sweat fuck-up then.

Borgonzi is reportedly a big believer in BMI scans and the effect BMI has on injury recovery and prevention. The fact Callahan and Wilson continue to call out Sweat leads you to believe that he isn't conforming to whatever conditioning plan they have set out for him.

It isn't overly complicated Borgonzi/Brinker/Callahan are struggling to implement their culture on this franchise and in the locker room and as they showed with Brownlee if you do not conform to their conditions you won't be around long.

I didn't think much about it at the time when very early in the preseason Borgonzi released Keondre Coburn who was another huge IDL that has a similar body type to Sweat and was ok as a rotational guy in 2024 that maybe he also simply didn't meet Borgonzi's BMI conditions.

Sweat is such an outlier athletically that he probably deserves a bit more leeway than the Coburn types. I mean if sweat somehow got down to like 25% body fat he might be like an Albert Haynesworth type of force. Or at least the best run defender in the league.
