Obviously very bad for the country but this is the environment that has been created. And then when stuff like this happens, the standard has been to mock and latch onto inappropriate theories like jilted gay lovers rather than offer any humanity or introspection whatsoever.

So Trump, Hegseth, and maybe Rubio went out to dinner in DC last night and there were protesters inside the restaurant just feet away. I have to wonder if he’d still go out tonight after seeing Kirk shot and killed.

like I said in the other thread, this is not good for america but miss me with the right wing outrage already permeating across social media. They made fun of Pelosi's husband being attacked and didn't give two thoughts when the Minn Rep was assassinated last month.

This trend of political violence in the U.S. over the last few years is disturbing - from the assassination attempts on Trump, to this, to the Democratic Minnesota congresspeople who were assassinated in recent months. And then back to Jan 6 and the Pelosi house attempt.

 

This is really a dangerous path we are on, and I hope that we can still get off of it.

I also wouldn't put it past a certain administration to try and give it a reason to go after guns.

I thought that as well. The timing of it all, over the past few weeks, and the timing of the shot of what he was asked and saying almost makes it feel scripted. 

 

Not saying it is but I wouldn't say it isn't. We'll probably never really find out. 

 

I think a lot of people conflate conspiracy with strategy.
