Listening to the Callahan radio show and Taylor Zarzour mentioned Cam Ward sat next to Brian Callahan during the entire duration of the flight home from Denver and they were deep in discussion reviewi

Callahan desperately needs a good offensive showing and a competent competitive well coached game, he's had a worse week than Charlie Kirk

There's a difference between saying he isn't it and saying just because you believe he isn't it that he should be fired after week one. No one believes he will be. That doesn't mean some minds aren't set. That was the worst called coaching game I've seen out of a Titans HC. He's 18 games in. He isn't a rookie head coach. He has maybe 4 or 5 games to not look like an idiot just to make it through the season.

I certainly understand people have made their minds up on him. I think it's very unlikely they fire him during the season but if he doesn't turn things around soon, I think he's for sure a goner after the season ends.

I haven’t made up my mind on him since it’s just game 1 and he’s got some time (this season) to turn it around.

But yesterday just reminded me of some of his bad traits last year.  Hard to shake that impression .

However he does have time to change the perception of him as being the head coach of this team.

If Ward starts getting hit, which he will if Latham is out, then all bets are off.

Are they really going to start Udoh?  That seems like a recipe for disaster at home,

Also he’s gotta at least put up a good showing at HOU in week four.  He cannot get embarrassed there.  That is the rivalry game for AAS, especially in Houston.

Yeah, I think this is the thing that will determine a midseason firing vs waiting until the end and seeing if he can turn the corner.  If Ward starts getting hit, he'll be gone and Amy won't care if it's midseason or mid-game.  We've got a starting 5 that seemed able to hold their own even against a pretty impressive rush, but with Latham out, Papa Callahan has to prove value.

This is where I think they have to incorporate a short passing game and use roll outs or motion and not just give up and like run the ball and call obvious screens.

They can work around one OL starter being out .

Some of the pass miscues you can chalk to inexperience/week one /lack of play . This stuff is fixable

So I don’t think it looks as bleak.  It’s just they pissed away a game that the opposition more or less gave to them.

Every new bad game seems like the worst game ever. But it's really just the latest.

I don't know if he has it in him to be like that.

Being too nice is the least of his problems...  Vermeil proved that you could be too nice and even cry in press conferences and still function as a head coach...

False. This isn't recency bias. Even @scine09agreed it was the worst game he's ever seen a Titans coach call before. Don't test his memory lol and he likes Callahan.

It's 100% the worst.  This isn't like last year when you and I got into it over Levis against the Bears being the worst game ever for a Titans QB.  That was clear recency bias.  Sunday was a disaster.  There's absolutely no getting around it.

Week 1 overreaction gonna over react. If we'd blown the Broncos off the field by multiple TDs people would be creaming their fruity looms over visions of Lombardi trophies dancing in their heads.

This is no defense of Callahan. Just zoom out. Jesus. We have the Rams now. The Denver game is in the history books.

See what you've done Ninja? Now I'm catching strays from last year!
