SuperFreak90
Vrabel is a clown. He won't last 3 years in NE, especially if he doesn't go to Super Bowl. Supernope

Popular Post OILERMAN
The incident occurred in early December -- the week before the contest against Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship game. Ohio State had just given up 603 yards and 41 points to a porous Michigan offense and barely escaped with a one-point victory. Well, strength coach Mickey Marotti – who is absolutely Meyer’s right-hand man, was ribbing Luke Fickell about “not getting his guys juiced up enough” before games. No, he wasn’t making a Jose Canseco reference. Marotti was suggesting that Fickell didn’t get his guys fired up enough. Then Meyer walked in and joined in on the banter. And while we’re told Marotti’s criticism of Fickell was somewhat light-hearted, Meyer was a bit more serious. He told Fickell that he needs to do a better job of getting the defensive players emotionally ready to go before kickoff. Well, just then Mike Vrabel walks in and hears this conversation. According to an impeccable source, Vrabel went off. He felt that Marotti and Meyer were going after Fickell unfairly and Vrabel screamed at both of them. The shouting match escalated and it got to the point where Vrabel actually put his hands on Meyer. Didn’t punch him, but did put his hands on him. (We’ve heard varying stories from two different sources: One says Vrabel put his hand around Meyer’s neck and pinned him up against a wall; the other source says Vrabel grabbed the shirt collar and it wasn’t quite as violent as the other source is making it seem.) We’re told it didn’t happen right away since OSU was still undefeated at the time and very much in the national championship race, but eventually Vrabel was told he needed to find a new job. They decided they were going to try and keep everything in-house and make it look like an amicable split. Popular Post OILERMAN
Ohio State defensive line coach Mike Vrabel, the former Super Bowl-winning linebacker with the New England Patriots, got so wrapped up in the Buckeyes' rivalry with Michigan on Nov. 24 that he head-butted a player during pregame warm-ups. As you might expect, the player was wearing a helmet; Vrabel was helmet-free. The result was a bloody, gashed, stitch-filled, wonderful mess. Mythos27
Breaking up a fight is not "tough guy" stuff. Ill-advised but not meat-head behavior IMO. I actually wasn't aware of some of those stories concerning Vrabel; I like him even more now. OILERMAN

IowaOiler
Breaking up a fight doesn't equate to good coaching. If it did, I'd say we should hire Mark Smith or Mike Beltran. OILERMAN, and DecepticonShawn2
TeamRamrod
We gonna pretend Vrabel didn’t cry as the titans coach? Human beings experience emotion sometimes. We all know this board is deeply on the spectrum but we’ve gotta recognize it out loud apparently. OILERMAN, and Callidus 1
NashvilleNinja
"Vrabel spent the Titans’ bye week in Foxboro, Mass., as a guest of owner Robert Kraft to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame. Vrabel had won three Super Bowls as a player with New England, and in a speech to the crowd before an Oct. 23 Patriots win against the Bills, Vrabel said: “I don’t want you to take this organization for granted. I’ve been a lot of places, this is a special place with great leadership, great fans, great direction, and great coaching. Enjoy it. It’s not like this everywhere.” The speech raised some eyebrows in Tennessee. When he returned to Nashville, Vrabel was asked by reporters during a press conference if his comments were directed at the Titans organization. He said: “(The Patriots) have won six Super Bowls in 20 years, that’s what I was alluding to. I don’t know what to tell you. It’s just a lot of success. … The amount of success that they had there, the whole message was, just for myself and the former players and everything, just to not take things for granted.” The whole event did not sit well with Strunk, a team source said. She and Vrabel never talked about it, but she let it fester." .......... In the aftermath of that visit, various reports emerged about the relationship between Vrabel and Carthon. Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal, who has covered the Patriots for several years, wrote a story citing that relationship as a reason Vrabel “could be looking for a way to force his way out of Tennessee.” The Boston Globe reported that Patriots owner Robert Kraft considered Vrabel his “home run choice” to succeed Belichick. ............. High-level Titans sources told The Athletic in November that the team’s long-term plan was to retain Vrabel as coach. After Vrabel’s firing, a team source said that was true then because Strunk strongly believed in Vrabel at the time — and because she wanted Vrabel to have a clear understanding of how she felt about him and how badly she wanted him to be the coach for years to come. Strunk did not get the sense that Vrabel felt the same way, and the communication between them got worse from there." https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5193909/2024/01/11/tennessee-titans-mike-vrabel-fired/ titanruss
