I don't follow college much and don't pay attention to the prospects until close to the draft.    Early on I fell in line with the talk of it being a terrible draft class for QBs. Terrible y

The Giants offered a haul and the Titans quit even listening. The NFL decision makers know.   I also think it's pretty funny it actually took a few miracles for the Titans to fall into the #

Mahomes played at Texas Tech. Allen played at Wyoming. Level of competition isn't as important as traits that translate to the pro game.

Ward needs to clean up some things and they need better weapons but I fully expect Ward to be among the top QBs in a short time frame. Mahomes, Allen and Ward.....

Agree. The difference between Ward and every other young QB we've had (and other rookies right now) is staggering. It's so obvious this guy is gonna be elite. He's already further along than I anticipated.

He has all the physical ability required, is elite in delivery speed, and appears elite in spatial awarenes (something Callahan also mentioned). I also believe he's elite in processing speed. Add in the fact he is everything mentally and professionally you want in a QB, and it's as sure a bet as you'll ever see.

Maybe we're all fools, I don't know. But I hated Levis coming out, hated Mariota (I posted right after his rookie year that is was deceptive and he had major issues, though I did think he looked better year 2), I really hated Locker. Statistically, it makes more sense to err on the side of Cam being not great, and the old guard on this board are not known for hyping up rookie QBs. So the fact that a number of us are convinced he's "the one" so early, before a regular season snap... we're obviously seeing something.

Eveyone needs to get ready and enjoy the ride. We're probably entering an era that most haven't really known since early 2000s.

There may have been outliers, like @AvgJoe who is a Hurricane fan and knew early, but most of us only really started becoming aware of Ward when we knew the Titans had locked down the 1st overall pick. Even then we had to wade through the Ward/Sanders, "it's a weak AB class", and "do we take such n such or trade back" noise before we figured out that Ward had to be the guy.

I knew as soon as I watched the first tape of him in early January and said he looked like both Steve and Mahomes.  A couple tards laughed, of course, but look at all the likes I pasted into this post that I just generated today!

Therefore, I was doing double duty back in January and had great recognition of the dual McNomes© threat that Cam brings!  Like my ol' buddy Ric used to say.  If you wanna be THE MAN  you gotta beat...

Im still hesitant to say he will be elite, but everything we have seen is very encouraging. The sapatial awareness is by far the thing that has stuck out to me most. Outside of tanny and his fearless ability to stand there like a statue till the last second every other qb we have had since mcnair has been differing levels of oblivous to paranoid and had no idea what to do once thier fight or flight response kicked in.

to be fair , Oman posted that in April.

And Titansfan has raved every year about a ton of prospects that flopped big time. Now he wants to pat himself on the back because Ward has won over some doubters. You can't make this stuff up.

He thought Willis was a first round pick worth trading up for.

Ward was the obvious guy the moment it was solidified we would have #1.

Also, I myself didn't think Willis was a 1st round talent. I just thought he'd go in the 1st round. In a league that loves traits (see Lance and Richardson) that wasn't a bad estimate

You know that second paragraph didn't help the case of the first sentence, right?

He said the Titans better be prepared to deal with Sanders(as if draft him)and had him going in round 1 lol

This is a tired topic thats 4 years old now and it appears to be all you have when talking about ALL the misses I've had. Its quite simple-- i  myself didn't see him as a 1st round guy but believed NFL decision makers would take him in the 1st because they've proven they will.

I even said I think Sanders would get overdrafted in the late 1st or early 2nd this year despite me labeling him as a 3rd round talent. Front offices make irrational decisions when it comes to the QB position.

What was clear is that Cam Ward would be a top 5 talent in any draft.

I came off that way early. And I can go through my own post history to prove that. You didn't think Ward was worth the 1st pick at all
